Key FOB tailgate release open button

Had this feature on my 2023 Tundra. Not talking about the taillight button. Talking about the KEY FOB button. Thought it was a gimmick before but actually used it quite often.

Wondering if anyone has any intel or guidance on this mod.

 

What do you mean by "mod"?

As far as I know, any Tacoma with the power tailgate has the open/close button on the key fob. Are you asking about adding the power tailgate to one that didn't ship with it?

 

Yeah I’m trying to seek any info on adding/switching the FOB to add the release button

 

To have a powered tailgate, it's going to take a lot more than the fob, such as a motor, software, and possibly new taillights.

 

I don’t want the tail lights.. Just want the fob button.

New fob
Tail gate latch release
Programming of some sort

This function is standard on all 2022+ Tundras

 

And the tailgate motor, eh?
