I'm kind of excited about this and sharing in case it can be of use to others. I think I saw this done years ago, but couldn't find proof of it again on here or FB so I sought out to find more current answers.

My 2003 Tacoma came with one OEM keyless entry remote when I bought it from the original owner. I didn't carry it for years because it was my only one and I hate more clutter on my key chain and in my pockets. After learning there were different frequencies between the older fobs and the current ones, I started searching specifically for the frequency that our trucks use. I got lucky and found this little gem on Amazon. I found program instructions online, went to an actual lock smith to have them cut and it's all working very well.

There are some bad reviews and some good ones, but since it was Amazon, I took a chance and glad I did. Now I have keyless entry again and don't have to carry that additional fob. Give it a try and good luck. Be well.

Side Note: I highly recommend a good lock smith or at very least, a manual key cutting machine. I've never had good luck with those automated machines like the big box stores use and it's just not worth messing up your new key blank. Also, I use a smaller ring through the new key that attaches to my main key ring. The plastic is obviously not OEM quality and I feel like this will help to reduce strain on the new key's connecting loop. Keys.jpg
