Help! I want to strangle my truck!
Is there anyway to disable the key in the ignition beeping?

I had my dealer turn off the seat belt dinger but they said the key in the ignition beeper could not be turned off. Is that true?

It is such a stupid feature. I work and play in places where I am in and out of the vehicle often and the safest place to leave the keys is in the ignition (So I don't drop them out in the sagebrush and get stranded). Anyone have an idea?

BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
    Unplug the chime, maybe.

Toyota dealership couldn't turn my door chime off when they turned off the seatbelt chime. Have a '15 , but it wasn't even offered as an option in the trucks computer.

I'm afraid this is the answer... I guess it's time to cut some wires...

Did you check the manual? I thought there was a section that described things that could be turned on/off by the dealer or the user

Yeah, I scoured the manual and couldn't find anything. Speaking of cutting wires, do you know of an official wiring diagram/manual? I haven't been able to find one.

I have ebay techstream, and in every Toyota I've used it on, the only option for the key/door dinger has been to make it quieter, but not turn it off.

Interesting...Is there a way to tell what level it is currently set at or do I have to take it to the dealer for that? Maybe turning it down could help my sanity...

It is all in the owners manual on what can be changed and what default is.
