Key Question

Just had a extra key made at the dealer, it was $51.00 to cut the key, they did not charge me to program it. My question is can I get a regular key cut just to open the door? If so I will hide that under my truck, in case it falls off I don't mind losing it and hide the extra programed key inside my truck. Its a 2013. Thanks

 

Yes, at any locksmith that has the blanks.

 

Ask your dealership to make you a credit card key. Mine sent out the blank plastic card in the mail and i had to come in to have them cut it for my truck... this was all for free. The key will only open the door...won't start the truck.

If you are an Auto-club member, they will cut you a credit card key (at least Southern CA-AAA will.)

I keep the credit card key in my wallet... being these trucks are so easy to get under (especially if lifted) i wouldn't recommend putting a key underneth.
