Just keeping it on the road. My money maker. 500-800 miles a week. Replacing what I need, when it needs it.
Key started getting stuck in ACC and not turning truck off. Had to disconnect battery. This worked, but a pain to do every time.

Removed center shift consul and unplugged the forward plug. Key operates smooth now.

Question is, what is this to?

Drive and shift are not effected. No other issues present with it disconnected.20180722_154329.jpg 20180722_154338.jpg

Cycled through gears numerous times before thinking to disconnect battery.

Only came to that idea because I had to figure out a way to turn off truck. She stayed in ACC (all accessories on). Once battery disconnected, key came right out.

This happens to me all the time, I actually use it as an anti theft when I park the truck in a bad area.

If the key is stuck, purposely lock the steering wheel as far right as you can and start jiggling the steering wheel towards the steering lock while simotaneously turning the key.

    Works every time.

Steering wheel lock and jiggle as mentioned is the best solution.

    WHY ARE WE YELLING!?

Sometimes the steering wheel gets jammed up with the deadbolt that passes through the ignition cylinder from the steering column. This causes the key to be stuck in ACC with the steering wheel locked.

How I get around this is a push the wheel as far clockwise as possible until it locks, and start repeatedly moving the wheel back and forth slamming on the lock with the steering wheel while I simotaneously turn the key counter clockwise. Steering lock should free up, and you’ll have your key.

I also use this to lock the ignition in sketchy areas as a sort of ghetto anti-theft. I lock the steering wheel as far clockwise as possible with the truck in park and no key in the cylinder, and now you can’t turn the key past ACC. Works like a charm.

I appreciate everyone's take; however, I can't help but feel like some of you are not actually reading the issue.

This is not a steering wheel lock problem. I know full well that it is a relay issue.

My original question is if anyone can help identify what relay is pictured?

Again, the truck does not turn off unless 1) battery disconnected, or 2) relay unplugged.

Is it the shift solenoid? I’d just replace the entire shifter console. The relay and solenoid can only be removed by de-pinning.
