The views from the top of the world highway make you feel just as if you were actually on top of the world.

Cool thing about the highway is during the months that the road is open it is the Northern most land border crossing in North America you can even get a special passport stamp at the crossing at Poker Creek. Made it here with only two days till they closed for the year. Officially made it into the 49th state!

The downside to traveling after Labor Day is just about everything is closed. After a quick stop in Chicken, AK to see the worlds biggest "cock" I pushed onto Tok for fuel and the official end of the ALCAN in Delta Junction.

A much needed shower, beer, food resupply and parts for the furnace that mysteriously quit working in B.C were on the next days agenda.

With everything taken care of, except for the metric parts needed for the furnace to work set off out of Fairbanks north to the Arctic Ocean.

The Dalton Highway is a no joke road wether its summer or winter the road is an equal opportunity killer drive with caution.

First day on the highway the mud was endless and seeping into every nook and cranny on the truck._DSC5446.jpg

The second day wasn't any better.

But in the end drive was epic!

Well it was time for an upgrade, the Tacoma served me well for the past 7 years but I grew up and the need for more capabilities pressured me into a Tundra.

And the first trip is already history, but that's for another time.
