    This is only an issue for the push to starts. Regular keyed or keyless entry (key to start with buttons to lock/unlock/panic) keys work on the tailgate. (Love my SR)

    I'm not sure what the point of keying them differently on the 16's was, but it's good that they stopped the stupid for 2017.

    Not sure why when you lock your doors your tailgate just doesn't lock too. you un lock your doors the tailgate unlocks, simple right. Maybe 2018.

    I'm unsure if you were referring to 2016's only with this, but for clarity it is not an issue on 2017 pushbutton start trucks. The "hidden key" in the fob works the tailgate lock.

    Mine does this. Unlock doors, tailgate unlocks. Lock doors, tailgate locks. You're right, it is simple. :D

    Now I did think to order it with the Power Tailgate Lock option which is available here in SouthEast Toyota territory. I gather it isn't available everywhere, but I'd imagine it can be done by most any dealer even if it's having them install a Pop&Lock.
