I have a 2015 TRD Off Road. My keyless entry has been acting funny for a couple of months. I would wake up in the morning and my remote would not work. I finally figured out that it would not work when it was cold overnight, mind you I live in Southern California. As soon as the day would warm up it would work just fine. This happens every cold morning without fail. Has anyone encountered this issue? Please help.

To ask a very basic question, when was the last time you changed the battery?

Have you opened the battery cover? I carry mine in my pocket and I have found lint in mine that has interfered with operation.

I would definitely swap the battery out and see if that helps. Possibly carrying it around and shaking the battery gives it enough juice to work occasionally.

Thanks for the replies. I opened up both of my keyless remotes and changed the batteries on them and made sure they were clean. I even tried both of them one cold morning and neither of them worked. I'm wondering if it has something to do with the keyless remote receiver/sensor in the truck?

Isn’t your truck still under 3yr warranty since you have a 2015. Have the dealer check it out.

Where is the receiver on these trucks? Under the dash? Other than the key fob I can't thing of what the issue would be aside from something blocking the receiver or a issue with the connection.

    Too few to list.
Is there an aftermarket alarm? Usually dealer installed alarm are piggybacked from the oem keyless entry.

Does the dome light come on when you push the key fob button?

It obviously doesn't get that cold in So Cal which is why this is weird. I took it to the dealer and of course it worked that time. Prob take it back on a cold morning when it doesn't work. I'm thinking it may be a loose connection. It does have an aftermarket dealer installed alarm. It's just bizarre that's it's clearly bc of the cold. Annoying as hell. Thanks again for all the input.

It does have an aftermarket dealer installed alarm.

^^^ This is probably the issue. My guess would be an inexperienced tech did a poor job with the wiring/splicing causing the intermittent issues.
