keyless entry module sound

taco 2019 SR 2.7L keyless entry module! the thingy that makes a beep when you unlock the truck.

does it have a volume control...mine can hardly be heard! wouldnt mind being a little louder! or maybe replace with other small horn? if possible???

 

It’s in the headunit

 

My vehicle does not have an e tune radio it's the older version

 

Possibly the Carista app plugged into the OBD port if it is compatible

 

I think we have a misunderstanding I'm not trying to mute it or turn it off I actually want to make it slightly louder

 

I'd love to have a louder beep. If there's any traffic or other noise then I can't hear it AT ALL! WAAAY too quiet.
I don't really know what Toyota was thinking with this beep volume, you need german shepard hearing to hear it!

 

I work by the airport so sometimes when I leave my vehicle in the morning I find myself checking two or three times the flashing lights and everything to make sure it's locked

 

It is a setting within the Vehicle Settings in the radio head-unit. If you have changed it out, it will need to be changed by someone with OBDII access (Dealer, Carista App/dongle, etc.). By default it is at mid-volume.

 

just checked out the Carisat app. wow, thats real good to know. easy enough to adjust beep if you cant get to dealer.

DO NOT WISH OR TRY TO GET A LOUDER BEEP! Be thankful it is a soft sound. You wanna hear annoying? Listen to a current Ford owner lock their vehicle. My Focus wakes up people in the next county. It makes my head explode.

 

that's exactly what I want! And if my neighbors can bother me with their loud music all weekend long a loud beep is not going to bug them....lol joke
