Usually an unlock/lock signal is tied into the Hazard switch so the turn signals flash (front & rear) not the tail/parking ones...

I thought so as well but they want #18 to flash. Is there a pin for the hazards? I’d assume not but there might be a pin that corresponds to turn signals.

Here’s how they instruct me to tap:

@kmorgan3 , tomorrow when you remove the terminal from the tap crimp, place a jumper to crimped T -tap ground to test. Maybe the remote key module is not providing the required ground.

Excellent. I’ll try to tap one of these. I’m not familiar with this plug - do you generally know where it’s located?

edit: actually I think it’s just the hazard switch running to the dash display. Sorry it’s kind of hard to decipher.

I will give that a shot tomorrow. I definitely think it should be flashing the hazards and not my tail lights. Never seen a truck flash tail lights. I tested my girlfriend’s 4runner and it flashes the hazards.

An update: I got the low beams to turn on when I unlock the truck, but the light stalk must be in the "off" or fully "on" position. If the stalk is in "DRL" the low beams won't turn on. I think this is now working as designed because on other vehicles the lights don't turn on with OFF/ON keyless inputs unless the lights are toggled by the stalk.

Does A33 connect directly behind the 4WD shifter? I don't see a connector directly behind the hazard switch. The connector behind the 4x4 selector is black but doesn't seem to match the pin-out map you provided.

:facepalm:found it thanks. I’m going to try the hazard light tap here in a second.

Alright I tapped into pin 4 and it looks like this project is a wash. The module does not pulse as described. Rather, it sends a constant signal for 30 seconds so the hazards are on for 30 straight seconds. I tested the module independent of a wire tap and can’t seem to get it to pulse - just straight signal for 30. What a bummer! Thank you for your help, but short of getting a new module I’m not sure what can be done here.

Maybe they skimped on programming. Tied it into the same pin to maintain headlights ON, so you can walk away with illumination. That sucks:(.
So back to TAILS/PARKING. (with Stalk on ALL OFF). Illumination for 30sec in the rear also...:bored:

Well at least now it’s just low beams and tails on for 30 sec and not high beams that will melt me as I walk away. Thanks again!

they sell relays that can provide a timed connection with a steady input...but that's adding a feature the module should've had...

Can you recommend one that might work for this application? I was already thinking perhaps I should find a way to put an inline module there.
