I live up in snow country, and the roads have tons of salt for about 4-5 months of the year. I found if you don’t keep up on maintenance with the traditional locks found on ARE and Leer caps the salt destroys them. If you keep them lubricated they seem to hold up well. My question is for those that have a cap with the keyless entry feature, how has it held up esp interested in folks that have this feature in areas where you trucks end up covered in salt

I am also curious about this! About to order a cap and debating the keyless entry option for $190. Worth it?

I didn't buy a cap with keyless entry, but I made my own. I was tired of having to unlock the windoors or back window with a key.

I obviously spent quite a bit of time designing it and making it work, but YES it is worth it. I don't even have to deal with salt like you.
I made the locks for the side doors by using VW jetta truck solenoids and removing the return springs. This made them either extend or retract with the push of my key fob. When they extend, they prevent the windoor latches from turning. I just leave the key lock cylinders unlocked. The rear window was harder since I couldn't mount anything to the tailgate. I made a sliding bracket that is a 5/16" square hold on one side and a 10mm diameter round hole on the other. The T-handle and spin freely when on the round side, and cannot on the square side. I then just connected that to a lock solenoid to do the motion.
