So I got a 2019 ORDCSB in MT.

This question comes from me wanting to have a ket that can get wet/smashed and still start my car. Also to have a couple more cheap spares.

I went in for my first checkup and the dealership (theres my problem right there) said that I could not get a key made that would start the car without having the remote lock/unlock features. They were also unsure about the key being wet and working... I just had them make a non-chipped key so I could stash my $300 key in the car when I go rafting or stuff like that.

So when I got home I took the guts out of the fancy key and it still worked. Then I held the fancy key next to the basic non-chipped key and used that to start it, and it worked.

Should I just try another dealership? Or can you order keys? Also, what do you guys do to stash keys when biking/rafting/camping?

I've been in a pool for about an hour with my MT key in my swim suit pocket. Worked immediately after and is still working to this day. Oh and I've washed it in the washer once. Left it in my pants pocket :anonymous:
