Amazon does have business accounts in which you'll get a small discount. From what I understand, they don't do bulk discounts. They simply aren't profitable v. EBITDA. If you read up on the company it's interesting. Salaries, benefits, OPEX, etc is all paid for but there's little cash leftover.

I was hit by a drunk driver in October 2015 ($2,200 in damage to my Tacoma) and I had the misfortune of encountering a DUI checkpoint while driving home work in March 2017. As someone who makes his living as a barback, I'm one of the few people driving home from a bar late at night who has any business behind the wheel.

I understand that the cops have a job to do, but if I can avoid waiting in traffic for 40+ minutes at a warrantless checkpoint and get home quick, I'm going to do everything possible to do that, and inform other innocent motorists (Uber/Lyft drivers, cab drivers, anyone who is sober) about the locations of checkpoints so their evening won't become a total hassle.

Anyone who drives drunk deserves to be punished, but dealing with cops is not something I'm in the mood to do after working a 12-hour shift!

I really did figure that was your point. I think posting in advance where a DUI checkpoint is a total waste of time though. In today's world that can be communicated to everyone anywhere in .2 seconds and everyone just goes somewhere else.

Also, being from the area, you're probably familiar with "All 3s Taxi"? Have you ever had the misfortune of being stuck behind a vehicle (taxicab, luxury sedan) from this company?

I'm not from the area. I'm just a smartass who makes comments on forums.

It's so rural around here it takes a taxi 40 minutes to get to you.

Where are there some easy-moderate trails? Also, don't want anything heavily wooded and narrow...still not ready for custom pinstriping.

I realize you were making a smartass comment, but here's what I was getting at...

Most, if not all, vehicles operated by All Threes Taxi have these obnoxious LED brake lights (including the CHMSL) that flash repeatedly when the driver so much as taps the brake pedal. It's fairly innocuous if you are behind one of these vehicles for a few seconds, but if you get stuck behind one in traffic, it very quickly starts to drive you nuts. I've been wondering if these lights have ever induced seizures...

Anyway, that one and only time I encountered a DUI checkpoint as a driver (Saint Patrick's Day 2017), I ended up behind a minivan from "All 3s." The van was filled to capacity with a group of drunk friends, and I commend them for calling a cab. However, I was stuck behind this damn taxi, LED brake flashers and all, for about 40 minutes!

    :annoyed:

I told another TW member this story, and he says he flashes his high-beans in unison with the brake lights on any vehicle that has these obnoxious LED flashers...

A drive from work to my house that would normally take 15 minutes at most turned into a 40-minute living nightmare! All so some cop who looked younger than me could ask me where I was headed to, where I was coming from, and if I'd had anything to drink. Then, finally...

I'm pretty sure those LED flashing brake lights are illegal.

Somebody tell the owner of All Threes Taxi. I wouldn't be sad to see them go!

Remember kids, don't be a dumbass.

Make sure to put your brake drum back on before you push the brakes to put the truck into neutral.

sounds like someone needs wheel cylinders.
You barely need to touch the pedal to trip the switch.

It all went back together and bled okay. Drove it around and brakes were normal. I'm going to pull it tomorrow and make sure it's not leaking. If it is I'll run down to the stealership and grab one.

And yes, like I said, don't be an idiot.

They did, I utilized the improper application of force to make them go back together. Nothing came completely apart but one of the sides was out a lot further than it should have been.

I ended up wrapping a ratchet strap around them and pulling everything back in.
