Why does the temp matter? Usually the hotter the better for sealing metal. I was going to do this in the next week or so, but maybe I should hold off until the weather drops a little.

 

I have about 2gallon of fluid film. I use a gun. My plan is to use some evaporust kinda gel stuff and soak the frame. Blast it with the pressure washer and paint the frame in rustoleum rust reforming paint this year see how that does.

I paid one time to have FF applied. Cost like $300 up here in the people’s Republic ...

I’ve since bought the spray gun off of eBay. A gallon does my truck and the Wife’s XJ.

If you don’t have a place to do it, that info doesn’t help at all. I realize this.

And, it’s not a party until @Grand dude shows up. I can tell you this first hand.

I mean, last Takeover, I’m pretty sure he was up until at LEAST 9:30 one night.

 

Enoughy that I lay under a truck AND a Jeep every year and spray it on myself...

I also do a better job and put it on thicker than they did.

And, don’t bark at me.

 

The temperature really doesn’t matter but when the temps are cooler it sticks and stays where you want it better.
Rattle cans , gallon cans , all the same .
You don’t have to put it on thick , it creeps.
Like someone said it’s great for squeaky leafs !

I’m looking into getting a spray gun (HF)so I get a better price by purchasing it by the gallon.
Got any tip’s Tim on what spray head works best ?

 

I bought the kit on eBay that came with a gallon and a spray gun. It also had the 360* wand for inside the frame.

If I look in my purchase history, it says the item is unavailable. I’m sure there are others selling the same thing though.

 

For those of you that have used FF. Does it stay on well if you run it through a car wash with the undercarriage spray?

I normally run my through the washer once a week in the winter.

Until it gets too cold. Below about 30 deg F it doesn't come out of the rattle can so well.

So cams are locked tight might need to cut everything. Easier to replace the whole arm or buy parts?

 

That would depend on your skill set and tools. I replaced mine a year and a half ago, only to get new ones with a frame replacement this may. I'll sell you my used pair that can't have more than 10k miles on them, but they have anti seize all over the bushing tubes.

Replacing the bushings is the hard part. Cutting the arms out is easy.

After rebuilding a couple sets, I got a setsif Dirt King LCAs. Do that, or get either a lightly used arms or new ones from Pep Boys.
