Any recommendations on a replacement rear diff. to convert my Prerunner 2wd to a posi-rear? I know Spicer is a supplier to Toyota already, maybe they have something that could drop in? Also, anyone done this before?

It's something I would have to start a small fund for $$$$$$.

Check out East Coast Gear Supply. They have pre-built third members you can drop in and send the old one back for a core. They can include any of the major lockers and limited slips you'd like.

For you and everyone else that was following and trying to help. I never found anything. I put it on a lift and wheel bearings and CV were good. I took it out and it cycled through 2 and 4 wheel drive just fine. The only thing I could think of was that it was encased in tons of ice from the big storm we didn't get. I glad to not have an issue though.

I want to put this in my bed cubby. Just want to make sure I’m clear, install in the cubby, run 8 ga power and ground to the fuse panel, install inline fuse on the power wire somewhere and done. Or am I wrong?

Yeah it was an effort to even shift until half way to work. Once it warmed up I was fine.

It's been a while since I had a manual. I went and started the 4runner in the cold. Let off the clutch and it tried to move scared the shit out of me. I grabbed the shifter and was like I know I'm in neutral. It must be full of 140w gear oil. Haha it didn't move real easy.

I just ordered the ARB wiring kit for it. It comes sealed, already fused, etc. Plus for once, it was the cheaper option.

Not sure what size rear I have or if I need a locker or not. I guess they can advise me.

If you fuse it and use large enough wire it wouldn't burn your truck down. Worst case you'd pop the fuse. I'm going to wire my ARB kit when it comes. If someone has a mod day out there we can do it. I don't think you all want to drive to NJ.

8 gauge way overkill for that application, 10 or 12 gauge will be just fine. I'm sure those outlets won't be pulling more than 2 or 3 amps a piece.
