I’m sitting in the shop today. Tough to work on a roof with snow. But as soon as my tires come I’m leaving!

I don't think I'll have the truck ready for this year, but I have looked at this event a couple times in the last year. If I can get the truck ready in time I would like to attend. If not next year I may just add this to the vacation list. I plan to do a bit of overlanding/camping/hiking next year.

So my inexperience and procrastination has led me to just now getting a plan for this summer's build. Instead of wheeling and enjoying summer. I know you have to start somewhere, but that is a mistake I won't make again. I think I will just make do for summers and build through the winter. I'm usually more active in the winter months though. So I guess spring is when I should plan some build time each year. I hope you have some innovative things with square one, festivals like this should not only drum up a little business but I would think ideas for products based on other people's set ups as well. Vacation that makes you money. I like your style show me your ways!

I got a shitty one when I was 15. Since then I have had two more. My brother drew one for him right before he died, I got that in remembrance of him on my back. Then I got a custom one on my shoulder for my deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan. Eventually I want a military sleeve, and a more civilian sleeve.

I will never get another one that isn't custom though, so it takes me a long time to settle on an idea, and then translate it to a tattoo I actually want. I also don't hold color very well, so after I touch up some existing I will probably stick to more of a black and white theme.

Only had about an inch here to deal with this morning. I was running late, so I was the asshole that used the skinny pedal to clean it off. Supposed to get 1-3" Sunday though. Heading to Pittsburgh for Disney on ice tonight, I can't wait!! :frusty: Too bad I couldn't hang out with someone on here until they are done. With the discussion from last night/this morning I think I am going to have to stop by Moe's burritos, at least it wont be a completely wasted trip.

It definitely was part of the process for me with my brother. I think most people do better with grandparents because they are older and closer to that part in life. It is always hard when the person is young. Especially when the bond is that tight. I had a hard time when it first happened because I left for AIT, then Iraq a couple of weeks after. I was dealing with a lot of stuff in that couple of years. It was a long road for me, I hope he finds his way. Just check in once in a while, and help with what you can.

Dennis, I also work with a Daniel that used to ride the race but then had to sell his bike so he didn't starve to death.

I feel you on that. My job is always posting OT and keeps teasing going to 12hr shifts which would be fine as long as I don’t get stuck doing the overnights.

haha yeah, we'll see if I'm going. It doesn't look like my normal cup of tea (too many people for my normal camping habits), but it could be a good opportunity. idk yet.

IMO i wouldn't worry about building your truck for any timeline or anything. Take it out, use it, figure out what stuff needs addressed. For most camping spots on public land in PA, a stock tacoma can get you there.

I usually get asked to stay till 2a. Weekend OT is a minimum 12 hours. I usually work 10a-10p and get thrown a bone till 2a. The jobs usually done by 9p or 930p so I usually nap till 2a haha. It's definitely not a physical job, but the hours are all over the place. We have 24/7 coverage in my department. I'm a signal maintainer with Septa in delco.

That is essentially my plan, but I have a lot on the books for this summer. I also don't have much time, and less in the summer. Once I start on the truck I think it will be out of commission for a month or so. Exciting, but also bums me out because of the potential timing. I know everything will align, then something at AOAA or Rausch that I want to attend will pop up.

As far as camping goes I'm hoping to keep it simple this year. I may look into adding a removable sleeping platform/storage, but that would be about it for this year.
