Hills aren't a huge deal since torque peaks at 1rpm and is flat til 3k.

It's so nice being able to accelerate up steep hills without going WOT and getting better than hybrid mpg lol

I inherited a daily, so making that transition myself in a month or so. I will say that since I know I don't need to drive my truck every day I am moving forward with build plans in a new way. It have allowed me to start my build with the goal of 35's. Although, it will be a few years before i'm able to afford a re-gear. That will be the last mod before I am completed or where I currently want to be.

If your goal is high mpg, in traffic a hybrid is better (or a short committ get a volt) but if you commute a lot on open roads a diesel is pretty hard to beat.

TDIs are dirt cheap right now since a lot are fixed and flooding the market. And the emissions warranty is hard to beat. Any time the CEL is on (not that it happens much on a VW:rofl:) it's covered under warranty up to 162k miles depending on the year. Turbo shits the bed at 150k? Covered.

2015s have an 11yr/162k mile warranty. As the car gets older the warranty gets shorter.

I'm not into another car until this one is paid off. No matter how good of mileage I get it's never going to cover the cost of a vehicle payment.

This is an active thread today. Rain and Friday must lead to nothing better to do but fuck off on TW. Works for me, I'm bored as hell until after lunch.

I'm in IT, we have a rule called "Read Only Friday" where you make no major changes. All I'm doing is racking and configuring some new Aruba JL322As for further setup Monday.

I do a week long training every other week right now. Fridays are evaluation days. The morning is a written test, so nothing for me to do but wait until everyone finishes. This afternoon will be different, no free time. But it is Friday so gun raffle tomorrow, and cigar meet Sunday.

Still trying to find where best to start
I'm sorry to respond to an old post but I had no qualms about which viscocity to run I was simply asking to gain more knowledge. Ive made my living working on cars for past 15 years, I've worked at Nissan dealer for few years and a caddy dealer for 5 years, I personally like local shops for work. I jave my own opinions based on my personal knowledge of working on and running/racing high revving engines. My personal experience Castrol GTX has priven itself in my eyes. I have personally witnessed cars that run cheap synthetic develop far more leaks sooner than running name brand conventional. I am not a scientist by any means just a mechanic.
