    Unfortunately, you're still using the same bandwidth speed spread across those devices, now just going to the two routers. So your router must have just been awful at handling multiple clients. Look for dual or tri-band routers.

    They’re both tri band routers, one is a router/modem combo from the cable company and the other is a linksys from Best Buy. I have all the “unimportant” things tied to the 2.4 GHz WiFi off the router we don’t use for personal devices

    Yeah I'd say it's more prosumer to basic enterprise. It's pretty good price for how reliable it's been, and really if I didn't want poe cameras I could have just gotten an er-x instead of a usg, ck gen2+, and 8-150 switch and saved a lot of money
