I squashed one in Marple the other day.

 

So we went to go pick up our Rav4 after they did 2 updates for the transmission computer for the lurching, hesitation. They were also supposed to fully detail and treat the interior and exterior, coat the paint with some kind of coating like ceramic. Also undercarriage undercoating.

They didnt clean the vehicle at all, they spray tire shine on the wheels and tires over all of the adhesive (wheel protection during transport) and dirt from sitting on the lot since May. There was a couple scuffs and scratches on the vehicle when we purchased it, they were supposed to buff them out before coating the paint (must've had a newby working on it because there's now swirl scratches on the passenger side where they supposedly buffed the scuffs out. Vehicle was dirtier and had more scratches than when we dropped it off yesterday. Needless to say I told them to keep it and fix everything. If i go back and it's not done correctly I'm taking it to a professional shop and they are covering the bill for the repairs and work. I'm not fucking around. We've only had it for two weeks.

What else can I do or should I ask for in compensation for the inconvenience? What experiences have y'all had in this situation?

I personally work for a dealership, that sounds like a shitty situation. But you hit it right on the head, it was probably a newbie who was detailing your car. We have had a couple bad experiences here involving poor detailers... Hopefully they fix the issues and you pick your vehicle up in a way better state. If not just outsource it and make them pay the bill like you said. If the experience put a bad taste in your mouth, just take your vehicle to a different dealer in the future for service.

 

This is their little hangout on the side of our building... we kill tons of them everyday. More and more show up, in Conshohocken.

That was a complete pain in the ass, have to pull the entire motor out to change the worm gear.

 

Ok, so... I replaced my pass side LCA today, but too late to align it today. Oh well. Seeing how fucked and seized those bolts were, I'm surprised that tech said to do pass side only. I've been spraying both sides with Liquid Wrench this whole week, but it didn't do anything where it matters. We'll see tomorrow..

 

Oh, and I so have to restock my sawzall blades after this
