We have no preventative maintenance so we change the oil in our gearboxes after we get done cutting the old ones off the shafts with torches.

Most fun in the basement. Ever been in a slaughterhouse basement?

I think you win this round. That and you saved me money, I was going to go out and get some lunch, but not after imagining that smell...

It's not that bad.. It all smells like cheeseburgers when you get the torch to it.

Yes, but I'm not set up for Icons. Down South is the best bet.

I have the setup and parts supply to rebuild Kings and do gas for anything that uses a schrader valve (which is most of them). Unfortunately Icon is a pain in the ass and did everything possible to make maintenance hard so you'd send them in.

Picked up my refurbishment project bed from the body shop with the new red paint! Home stretch now to remove the old, clean up the exposed frame, fluid film, and slap on the new(er) bed.

    Cool, thanks

I think I’m leaning towards buying new Kings, send out the icons to be rebuilt and then sell them

You can save the bother and just sell the Icons with a note they need to be re-built. The pricing on used shocks is very dependent on condition.

ADS quotes a 10day turnaround on rebuilds, if you're interested, but idk if they do Icons.

Does my used cap need to have a 3rd brake light... will I get a ticket?

I'm getting mixed findings on the internet, and I just checked the PA code. https://www.pacode.com/secure/data/067/chapter175/s175.66.html

"(e) Other required lamps. A vehicle specified under this subchapter shall have at least one red stop lamp on each side of rear of vehicle, which shall be illuminated immediately upon application of the service brake."

That makes it look like I don't need a 3rd brake light

If it came with one when you bought it, you have to retain it. It PROBABLY won't get you a ticket unless you get a super-dickwad, but it definitely won't pass inspection.

Anybody here from the Greensburg area? I just saw what I believe was a black TRD Pro with Trd Sema Pro wheels and I believe it sounded like it may have an exhaust on it in my neighborhood.

Yes, I gathered those viewpoints on the internet (if it HAD one and it doesn't work... it must work). But this cap NEVER HAD ONE so it shouldn't need one with that mindframe (its bare bones, no bells/whistles and never had a 3rd brake light cut in, and no wiring harnesses of any sort). But the truck itself has one... one that I'm covering up with the cap. So I didn't know if there was some stipulation for that scenario.
