I remember helping a friend replace the water pump and timing belt on his Subaru Outback, and man, that was one hell of an undertaking. It took us four or five days because we only had time to wrench on it in the evenings, after work.
I still remember how much trouble we had lining up the cam sprockets and getting the valve timing set up. :goingcrazy:

    Never again. :annoyed:

Thanks for the advice @loosnut , @Tatts521 and @Taco critter. I did some more searching and wound up going with a Hondo garage mount that utilizes ram complements and has clean routing for my usb cord. I hate when that thing is in the way.

Exactly the one I purchased. I sprung for the wire clips as well. They had a ton of solid reviews for this setup.

I might be a little too late if you already bought Hondo's mount...
I'm using a "DMM", which might be a bit more involved, it also utilizes Ram mounts, doesn't interfere with any vents and (Imo) has cleaner look.

I think he makes a single mount version as well.

    Morning all .
Heres my list of vehicles best I can remember:
1961 Chevy Impala 283 with slip and slide power glide trans
1951 Ford Classic Coupe (needed body work and only had it on road to run around the block a few times. Dad sold it to get it out of the backyard when I went into the service.)
    1966 Mustang 200cu.in. 3 speed manual
    1970 Ford Fairlane 302 automatic
1973 Ford Torino station wagon (wife's car and I had to car pool)
1966 Ford Econoline 170 cu in 3 speed manual(4 th owner old Bell telephone van. fixed up back for camping and drove for many years. had close to 300000 miles on it)
1968 Mercury Cougar aka "Slum Sled" (only things worthwhile on the car were the sequential tail turn signals and the 302 cu in engine)
1966 Ford pickup less engine aka "Belch Fire"(pulled Cougar engine and installed in truck. Truck never had a legal inspection sticker:facepalm:)
1968 Ford Step side pick up 302 cu in 3 speed manual
1963 Chevy Impala Coupe aka "Ghetto Cruiser" 283 cu in with power glide slip and slide
1978 E250 Ford Econoline converted in to a camper. 351 cu in automatic
1991 Chevy pick up six cyl. 3 on the column
1993 Dodge Pick up 318 cu in automatic
    1995 Ford F150 302 cu in automatic
    2017 Toyota Tacoma Present driver.

The aka names were given to my vehicles by my bil because the names seemed to fit. Worked in the city and didn't want to take a nice or new car to work. :)

I spent a lot of time on that truck... It was a fun project. 460 with a very sharp cam, 2000rpm stall on the TC, with 3" exhaust. Just was afraid to drive it after I spent so much time and money on it.
