    Thats where I'm getting into my own head. Part of me says overall it should be better with 4.30 gears (then I have the whole locker debate), but will it be that much better for daily driving? My only issue is 1st is too long and 6th too short currently with 285's.

    I am hoping to jump to 295 or 315 for the next set, but it really depends on whether the truck set up to run 35's. I don't want to have them to have them. I want to be able to effectively power them.

    Another realization is that I have no ability to perform either of these mods, so looking at the working involved it may be far cheaper to go the re-gear and locker route vs. crawler. With the crawlbox I would have to do a bit of extra mods to accomodate. I personally feel the crawlbox would be a better mod for me long term and allow far more control and less bashing on big rocks.

    Perhaps I should just be happy with the build where it is and just wheel it. That option allow the overland part of the build to progress a little. My plans are to take a lot more time next summer and dedicate it to getting outdoors and camping. I would love to add a RTT to the mix, and just spend the summer exploring.

    Your on the right track and Craig is right. Use your truck and figure out how you’re really going to use it. Do some research on gears there should be some good threads on it, I’m a 3rd gen auto so I have no input on that.

    The price of a crawl box plus install plus driveshafts plus an extra crossmember could buy a really nice camping setup.
