Gf has a Crosstrek. It's nice for around town but it's a little gutless.

I'd love a VW Alltrack but I'm used to 45 mpg on a bad day in my TDi so fuck getting just 30mpg haha.

Realistically my next buy will be a 100 series as a toy. I've had my golf for just less than 2 years and already put 60k miles on it. All I care about for a DD is comfort and efficiency and other than an Audi TDi there's nothing really out there that can compare.


I need to move.

But then again, what doesn't need a turbo?

 

Subaru sells too many crosstreks to have the room to build a turbo version.

Though they just came out with an outback turbo, Crosstrek might be next

 

I think it would make a good DD.
Right now the FRS is useless in winter weather but I just take my truck.
It would be nice to have a DD that was AWD but overall I’m pleased with it.
Little fucker gets 33mpg hwy.

 

That's kinda why I want a 100 series. My golf puts around ok with snow tires but eh.

Her Crosstrek gets almost 40 if you run all highway and keep it under 65.

It's more of a lifted wagon than a crossover, and you can get it in a manual.

Honestly, the Subaru’s are growing on me.

drove the Ascent this evening for a distance. Very comfy and the driver features are next level tech.
For nearly a $48K vehicle I expected the goods and it delivers.
Better mpg than the NISSAN too. 20city 26hwy

I’ll take it.

We've been driving Subarus for many years. My father-in-law bought one of the first sold here in northeast PA back in '69 and my wife had a '73 Sedan when we got married. My first new one was a '76 Wagon with selectable 4WD. This was it:



Over the years we've had Outbacks and I've had both a Brat and a Baja. My wife drove a Tribeca for a few years and our daily drivers are both Outbacks. IMHO, there's not a better car in the snow and the maintenance record on the is pretty solid. They have their quirks - head gaskets at somewhere around 100k miles for one - but when you live 3/4 of a mile back on a dirt/gravel township road in northeast PA you need something that will get you through the mud and snow. Subarus do it. My wife's current Outback has over 160k miles on it and is going strong.
