True about the rain, but it's supposed to rain all next week so there's no sense in washing my truck. Pretty sure at this point my truck is no longer white.

And I know I mentioned it's cold, but in the shade it's worse! Did a quick pre-trip on the truck before my small trip today and I can't feel my darn hands!

I got into the truck this morning after not using it for a little over a week. I parked it with the maintenance light on, just never reset it after the last oil change. This morning I have my check engine light on and my trac off light illuminated. I cannot use the trac off button to turn the light off, and it won't let me cycle through the options. Anybody have an idea of what this could be? They weren't there when I parked it. Or even a link to a helpful thread?

Read codes somewhere, probably an evap emissions code, though apparently it happens a lot with the secondary air injection pump which may be covered under an extended warranty.

I never even thought of that. I did a quick search on TW, and came upon a thread about spark plugs and cracked insulators. I have 105K, and probably 60K on the spark plugs, so it is a likely source. I was originally thinking something with the suspension or wheel speed sensor with the trac off button coming on. The secondary air injection pump....fuck i never did the unifilter mod! I'm hoping to get it on a reader here at lunch at the local napa if they will read it for free. If not, I will end up going to my usual shop. They will read it for free knowing if it is something I'm not comfortable with, they get the work. I'm thinking this is probably something small, but it is odd that it just appeared after sitting for a little over a week.

I'd assume when I worked on my ucas back in the summer I hit the abs cable. Cuz i havent had trac control or abs since then.. and I cant get my maintenance light to turn off either. My truck is in a world of hurt. Need to get alot done on it.

If it goes above like 30 it's not the secondary air pump, that puts it in limp mode.

Could also be high voltage on an oxygen sensor. I had that happen last year. Definitely need to read the codes.

"it is bad for us all" That sums up your mentality. Dictate to others what to do or not do.

There seems to be a lot of generalization about the off-road community.

People that take their vehicles off-road do not throw their garbage in the vehicle and toss out into the land.

The trash was from illegal dumping by people. I have a dirt road next my house, I find trash on that road on a regular basis. There is no off-roading in that area. Should I blame that on off-roaders? No, I blame it on people that don't care enough about others or the land.

Take a look at Colorado, that state is open to public and off-roading. When you off-road responsibly, you are part of a large responsible and generous community from many states to include PA. The minute you go off trail or leave trash, the off-road community will have strong words for you. It is not tolerated.

I was thinking that as well, because I have had some issues with VSC after lifting. I don't have the ABS light on as well though.

It drives fine, I went about 10 miles to work, and no issues in handling or power. I'll get it read after I get out of here.

My commute is 600 miles a week.

That's the main reason I have a diesel VW.
