Putting our college online for the rest of the Semester and have cancelled/postponed all college events including commencement and my retirement event through June. The CDC’s prediction that this will run at least 8 weeks pushed me to determine it was better in the long run to maintain continuity throughout the semester instead of jerking students, faculty and staff through the knothole every few weeks. The college will also begin a work-at-home stance tomorrow and continue as long as necessary.

Not the way I pictured my last semester with the college.

Where I work we're 2 business's in one . One sells ammo, clay birds and reloading supplies. The other company deals with dewatering, well, sump and wastewater pumps along with pipe hose and fittings. That is the side where I work. But yesterday the ammo side was crazy. They were slammed almost all day. The phone rang all day it was crazy. Most asked question. Do you have any 9mm ammo? 2nd most asked question. Do you have any 223 ammo? Third most asked question are you open tomorrow. So its probably going to be busy for them again. All the mines we deal with on the pumping side won't accept sales calls. They dont even want deliveries unless absolutely necessary. Now they closed state parks and moved the trout opener for the whole state to April 18. This is crazy. I understand the whole thing but it still blows my mind.

I hear tell could be both lots of divorces and lots of babies in nine months or so.

Both at the same time would not be fun.

I can see shutting things down to prevent completely over whelming the medical system .

Not like I have much social life outside of work.

I'm not sure why we are still open. I wouldn't classify us as essential. We've got all the screening and crap in place now. We are actually taking temperatures at the door.

    Nice view!!

As a business owner it sure would be nice if the Governor would have provided any real specific clarifications to "Essential" and "Nonessential". Just publish a list please! I scoured the internet for an hour and the best I could surmise is that the Philly Inquirer said Veterinary practices are stated by the city as essential.

Know what I'm saying? Yes I'm a "medical facility " as the Governor said but not for humans. Since I'm not working on food production animals... what is a pet really when the apocalypse is going down?

It amuses me so much people stocking up on bread and milk.

With the kids we legitimately go through 4-5 gallons per week. Yesterday I had to go to 3 stores to make sure i had an extra gallon. If everyone would just get what they need, there would be plenty on the shelves. The economy is going to tank for a few weeks, better create mass hysteria and make people buy everything before we lock them down. Laughable, is what most of the world is at this point. Looking at the whole situation it is amazing how stupid we have become as a society, and now we've been conditioned to follow what everyone else is doing through social media. One person panics, and the world does. Just like the whole TP situation, no one really needs to stock up, Corona Virus primarily is a respiratory flu, therefore food, tp, ammo, whatever everyone else is panic buying is all for not. These businesses aren't closing, well as of yet. I forsee an issue with truckers being able to eat, and eventually that may slow and mess the supply chain up. Maybe I'm looking at this wrong, but its my .02.

They also closed the rest stops on the interstates for no fucking reason. The Mile Run exit which is about 4 miles from the next rest stop was lined on both sides with truckers.

Well said. And total chaos and societal breakdown all for the sake of a disease that only has a 1-4% fatality only for select people. Imagine if this was Ebola spreading this fast?
