@Anchovy this is what the truck looks like now. Keep in mind a majority of this stuff is only living in the truck because of my job.

Everything on top of the decked system:75DD026A-4DDF-443D-9296-2FDD7F3A3953.jpg 90DED4B7-9F4B-46CF-B948-0F020F15E0CD.jpg
This is the smaller drawer, the yellow just above the blue tool box is a whole other tool box: 7C3487C1-739B-437B-B05F-3B25A0F44216.jpg
    Larger drawer: D4FC72A2-7364-499C-9425-EE1AAD1AF8E8.jpgE6B674C9-7E1F-4ECE-820B-ABB49CC7ADD2.jpg

so it holds a good amount of crap on a normal basis. Both “ammo cans” on either side of the drawers are packed with tie downs in one and the other has my larger Bubba rope in it along with shackles... and I can still get in there and lay down

I’m hoping to be able to fit majority of my work tools in the drawers but that’s a tall order. I got a lot of shit. I just don’t want to run the risk of smashing a window if I have to load something work related, since the top of the decked is fairly close to the bottom of the windows. I wouldn’t have enough of a heads up for loading things to be able to remove the decked ahead of time. I’m on the edge for multiple reasons

I mean... that truck has held a fuck ton of shit. From plywood to large low pressure airbags, To saws and even ... what you guys would refer to as the jaws of life. (O cutter, spreader, combi tool)

The stuff I would have to load up if I ever have to would be things like a pipe vice, pipe stands, mig/stick welders, maybe a Ridgid 300 or 700, etc. All oddly shaped, metal, and heavy. I also don’t know if I can justify $1250 for the decked

It would not be a major project to make shields to protect the breakable windows

My luck anything not secured would go through the windshield once was enough.

If you want, when this is all over you are more then welcome to take a look at the truck and try some of the stuff. The pipe vice may be a bit difficult from what I remember. If they are small welders it would work, but larger could be difficult given the angle...

Again, once this crap is over, you are more than welcome to give it a shot, before you drop the money for it... also as a heads up, I got mine through TW on a group buy, always an option.

Yep. I need a roof rack... *sigh*

The downfall to all of this, we're such a new department that we don't have our own lockers (gear and personal) so everything lives in the truck. Spare clothing (if we get exposed and need to be deconned) bedding if we can't go home, shower kit... I think my next goal is to try and get us at least some type of personal lockers to keep in a back room separate from our hosting Volleys.

Thanks, it’d be nice to see what the bed looks like in person with the decked

I've only seen one window broken, and that was from an enormous jack stand while going down brake check at Rausch. If you have some cargo blankets and netting or tie downs, you should be good to start until you see the decked. IMHO, the drawers wont be large enough for anything bigger than hand tools and small power tools.

Yeah, I would put my personal tools in the drawers and the big stuff that’s only in the bed for a one way ride would go on top

Naaaaah. I need a house of my own, and legit lockers at work. It’s somewhat of a complicated issue hopefully we can get it worked out as we progress.
