I realize that, I commute to work. The point is that no one was using the turnpike for a few months last spring because of COVID. People who could, worked from home, many just couldn’t work, so less turnpike traffic.

 

Great place for ice cream in the summer but for a real treat try the Nesting Box in Kempton. Trust me, she'll like it too.

I drove from Bucks to Hershey back in June to make a Tröegs run for takeout in the FRS.
Never seen it so devoid of traffic.
Zero troopers too.
One of the few times I’ve done triple digit speeds for a sustained period of time.

challenge coins, this is my one and only from active duty. Got it from the battalion commander for being honor graduate at air assault school. It has lived in my wallet since the day I received it in 1994.

 

I would like to just let the wind deal with mine, but they were piled 2’ high from the last wind storm we had, and were killing the grass. I raked, mowed, blowed, and burnt on multiple occasions. Hopefully it’s done for the year.

 

I miss burning leaves. It’s been banned in my township, the last time I remember doing it here I was about 11 or 12 years old.

 

Well I've got my turkey in a brine for now..

Lets see how bad I fuck this up.

 

Not sure what is allowed here, but i just threw some on the campfire occasionally. No major piles were torched.

 

I have a large stone lot next to my driveway and we’d rake them all into a pile there and throw a match on it.

 

I bet that was fun to watch.

 

It was. Even better that we didn’t have to bag them up.
Since then I’ve lost 8 of the big trees that were on the property. Other than my 3 Japanese Maples all the leaves blow in or drop from the neighboring properties.
I filled up 2 cans with them and all the rest I just blow back over the fence into the wooded area behind my house.
Easiest year ever for Fall cleanup for me.
I do miss some of the big trees though.
We lost a large old Maple in the backyard and I had an 80 year old Beech taken down in my side yard.
Looks too bare to me now.

 

I’m surrounded by trees, with some large red oaks in the yard. Never ending supply of leaves.

 

It looks like you could get away with blowing them into the woods too...

 

I do when i can keep up with them. After those last two fronts, was just too many piled up.
