Wow! I hope it came with counseling.

My 93 year old mother thinks trees still cost 15 bucks. We take her out each year and make a deal with the sales guy. She haggles to 15, we pay the balance as she heads back to the truck and everyone is happy. :)

No tree here. No point to decorate for myself.

I miss the woodstove from girlfriends parents house, would love to put one in my house, we currently have this fake fireplace that I'm trying to figure out a good way to put in woodstove type insert

The oldie oil burners didn't have much for tech and aren't difficult to keep running if one is competent with tools and electric along with devoting some time to study how they work. Like any other machine some preventive maintenance eliminates most breakdowns.

Most important is to get a GOOD serviceman to set the combustion. Once set up correctly you can change the nozzle and oil filter every season and have the serviceman tune it every few years. My serviceman has been working on oil burners for over 50 years, he is a good teacher too.

My oldie has been very reliable until the heat exchanger rusted away after 50 years in a miserable damp basement. Kind of sad to see it go. :(

Fortunately the furnace is (was) mostly used fall & spring, the majority of our heat is by an equally old Warm Morning coal stove -- it keeps going when the power goes off.

PA peeps. I am swapping my tires to 265/75's and my stock Goodyear Wrangler tires with just a skosh over 10K miles will be available. 265/70 16. I think there will be five but I have no idea what the spare looks like. 4 or 5 for free. Let me know.

Gents. Hot coals from fire pits really belong in a METAL can. AWAY from the residence and all structures.

this has been your daily public safety announcement.

(yes. Even if they appear cold to touch. Same thing. )

Good morning fellow Pennsyltuckyvanians, and welcome to that day many refer to as Monday. Supposed to get rain today - sounds like a day to catchup on some of my reading.

A covered metal can. Wind whipping up can fan them into flame again.

If it is good enough for the Bear it works for me.

lots of water stir and repeat as needed.

After burning down the garage and house when i was young and dumb I might be paranoid.

I almost burnt a shop vac up a few years back. One cherry was buried deep in the ash pan. Boy did it get get going in the bag with all that forced air on it. I screamed to the wife to open the door and i went running. Was able to get it out of the house and taken apart in time.
