there are exceptions to every rule, in my 14 years of doing shift work I’ve seen night shift get more done. Granted there isn’t quite as much work load on the back shift, but the percentage of work completed vs. work scheduled has always been higher in my experience.

I always slept better during the day I had no problems with third shift.

What cause the problems is the other people wanting you to resort to there time frame on your days off .

I got something to eat did what I planned for the day went to bed around 1400 to 1500 was up an hour before I needed to leave for work I did this 7 days a week.

It comes down to the people doing the Work I have seen it go both ways .

Then most new hires if they are the gung ho get it done type and the rest are slackers either move on from being bored or carrying all the work load or accept sleeping 5 hours out of 8 and call it a good nights work.

I always liked 3rd shift when I was on it years ago, I worked it for 7 or 8 years. I also worked 2nd for 2 years and didn't care for that at all. The worst I worked was a split shift, I went in at noon and got off usually around 9pm, that lasted a little over a year. The split shift just got me in trouble, I was young and it gave you plenty of time at the bar after work:rofl::cheers::drunk:

Spent some time fixing up old 870's for awhile. Found out that the 12 & 16's are built on the same receiver. I had a nice Wingmaster re-blued and when I went to build it, the bolt assembly did not fit! The 12 ga barrel "fit" though as I had selected one for the project before I sent it out for bluing. I had redone some gorgeous walnut stocks for it and ended up getting 16 ga. guts and a real 16 ga. barrel and gave it to my bride. She mostly shoots a 20 ga English-stock 1100 but once in a blue moon, when we can score some ammo, we will shoot this one.
We also used to shoot with a PA group who would have theme-shoots, one of those being "sub gauge" sporting clay shoots, anything under 12, and we would use it for that. Fun group. We did short barrel sporting clays too. That was a hoot. Bunch of folks with 18"-20" shotguns on a sporting clay course with gentlemen who had guns worth more than our cars!

The hawk is nipping south of Pittsburgh. However I'm putzing around in a heated garage sipping on a cocktail. Was nice today in the sun late afternoon. Enjoy PA, NO precep!

I like to sleep during the day, blackout curtains are your friend. Also food shopping and doing just about any task when 90% of the rest of the world is working is very satisfying.
