My frame's lasted this long; The local stealership coated my frame under the recall back in 2017 and it seems to be holding up just fine!

I wonder how long it'll be before Toyota issues frame recalls on 2018-2021 Tacos...?

Nah, this is a friends. I helped her buy it, it's a low mileage example. 2003 4wd LS with a tick over 86K miles. 4wd decided to quit at the most inopportune time; we had to yank it out of a swampy field. We got it narrowed down to the vacuum actuator. Like Gomer said, surprise, surprise, surprise. I did have an S10 before my Taco's though. 4 cylinders of fury!

I even painted it in my garage, came out decent for what it was (minus the overspray, oops!)

As far as the frame recalls, I hope to Hell by now they've taken care of that for the 2021's. Either way I'm keeping it washed down!

I got my concealed carry permit on November 20th; The process took less than an hour...

A friend of mine is trying to get his CCW, but the Bucks County courthouse is now doing this by appointment only as of December 2020.

Can anybody confirm or deny this? Is this a statewide thing or just for the more populous counties?

That is very cool! There is a gentleman on the FJR forums whom I've had the pleasure to meet and now call a friend named John Langdell. His father was the sole surviving officer for the Arizona from Pearl Harbor. His parents had just gotten married when his father was assigned to the Arizona and were allowed to stay in a small cottage overlooking the harbor as this was their honeymoon. While his father witnessed the attack he was obviously unable to make it to the harbor to get onboard thus being the only surviving officer. Attaching a link form FJR forum, I hope this works.

    https://www.fjrforum.com/topic/161239-december-7th-pearl-harbor-day-a-personal-connection/

My g/f and I rode to Spearfish, SD in 2018 for a meet up of FJR owners and John was one of the reasons I chose to go.

They have also gone to a by appointment basis here in Lackawanna County - it's a COVID related response to keep people from congregating at the courthouse.

That is an awesome story - I imagine he had to deal with some tremendous guilt for not being on-board. What a generation that was.

I can't get to the link - not a member so it won't let me view.

The deputy I talked to said they had something like 400 applicants on the day I went in to get mine!

I was afraid that might happen. This one will work and if not PM me and I'll give you my log in info just so you can see it if needed. I'm willing to trust you not to bring down the ban hammer on me.

 Like hoping for a swarm of locusts!! No! No! ;)
I have lived here all my life -- didn't like snow as a kid either. Mowing is ok, snow is a p-i-a. :annoyed:

Full disclosure: Ginger the pavement princess doesn't go out in the snow. (Yes, I bought a 4x4 to NOT drive in the winter.)

    Wow small world...

I took the USS Coral Sea around the world in 83, John was staff for the Pacific leg of the cruise.

We hunt phez in SD every year with some other retired Navy guys. The Admiral ended up buying a house there on the ND border. I donated my old kitchen table to the house. John being down in Spearfish takes several trips a year to check on things.

We hunt hard and never laugh or joke it is serious business LOL. John with some "feathers in his cap"

I drove him to Mn. in a blizzard one year so that he could pick up his current dog when he was a pup. Not sure who picked out who...

John's real name is Iron Butt, he has made some really long trips on his bike. And as you likely know even in Australia.

My favorite picture of his father was from the last time he made it back to the Memorial. He was the oldest and last surviving officer of the Arizona.

And when he was laid to rest with his men.

The Toller in my avatar sitting in an empty 8 pound keg of Red Dot gunpowder passed over the Rainbow Bridge a long time ago. His registered name was Cayuga Sheshequin Sniper. Sheshequin is on the other side of the Susquehanna as you but a lot further North. Was down your way on Recruiting duty in the 80's for awhile though.

Sadly his father, featured in the video, was gone a few years before I met John but the story he wrote and posted to that forum way back then was enough to put him on that short list of people that you just wanted to make sure you meet in real life and not just behind a keyboard and screen. John wrote a very moving story about his father, what he had sen and done, and about his passing and later interment during a ceremony at Pearl. I do feel honored to have met John and to consider him a friend. He's hosted many riders including opening up his own home to them. Great man who obviously had a great dad to look up to.

It IS a small world! Obviously you're far closer to him than what I am seeing as I've only really spent time with him once during that trip to Spearfish. John does love to ride and indeed has put some miles in down in OZ. His host for that trip is another FJR forum member and I've also been fortunate enough to meet him when Festar was stateside with John a couple of years back. I think that's why I enjoy these forums so much is the way they shrink the planet and connect us initially through a common interest that grows into truly rewarding friendships.
