My fav was my 85 Ford ranger. I bought off of a farmer which was used as a farm truck for 1500.00 reg. Cab long bed 2.8 v-6 “ticker” motor and a 5 speed. Drove it for 2 years which in the process of me saving money for a 302 bored to a 306 with a mild cam and trick flow heads and installed a modded c-4 trans.... that right there was my baby.

Notice how thin the windshield pillars are -- all the modern vehicles have a blind spot by the drivers left eye, drives me nuts. When I drive the old 66 Ford wagon the world is displayed in a panoramic view.

And yes I know the moderns are safer...

I had a bunch of the big full size Jeeps -- that is how I learned to weld...

Nothing can rust as well as a big Jeep except anything built by International Harvester.

They were awesome to drive -- no blind spots, surprisingly agile, powerful heater, easy to fix.

Oh man, since we're going for nostalgia, I guess I'll partake! I'm a bit younger than all of you, so my list is a little more modernized.

First car was my 1987 Oldsmobile Delta 88 that me and my dad fixed up and painted. Loved that car (mostly for the back seat :spy:)

Second was a 2002 Neon, but it was a turd (and not pic worthy). Was rear ended in it short into my ownership.

Third was my 04 Nissan Frontier. 2wd, 4 cylinder with a 5 speed. On of my favorite trucks!

Fourth, another Frontier. This was was an 07 Nismo Offroad (2wd, lived in Mississippi, no need for 4wd). Another favorite, but developed the infamous timing chain whine.

Traded that for my 5th car, the 08 Jetta. 5 cylinder with a 5 speed manual! I'll save some bandwidth and include it's replacement, the 17 GTI. Loved my VW's.

Can't forget my little beater 99 S10 before my first Tacoma. Had a good bit of time and work into this one!

Welp, there's my short incomplete list. I'm 31, but have gone through several already.

Spring around the corner and I gotta seed the yard and fertilize it early. Winter was hard on me grass. I still have a lot of snow in the yard but would like to have a nice lawn. Bare spots and clover I have. Who’s got pointers? I’m going to grab some fill dirt soon as the snow melts to hit my low spots and then spread seed and hit the bare spots with straw to help promote growth and not bird poop

I had the same car, same year, in Gray -- it was the easiest car to live with that I have ever had, it did everything you asked effortlessly and got 29-30 mpg at 70 with the air conditioner freezing you.

I quit driving it at 280,000 miles because the fuel lines rusted, I just didn't have the time to fix it and have regretted it for many years.

That Cherokee was a beast with the 360 . Never got stuck once . Used to do a little mudding with it and it would go through deep snow no problem. I had some things done to the engine too . Holley 4 barrel, Edelbrock high rise intake ,Compitition Cam and lifters ,ported and polished heads ,Black Jack headers and Mallory dual point racing ignition. Dual exhaust . Then I got married and it had to go :(

I loved the old 360 engine, smooth and quiet -- it made it's torque at almost idle speed like a tractor engine. Not unreasonable on gas if you kept your boot out of it either.

I didn’t really get great mileage after all that engine work .Big tires didn’t help either . They only thing I did to the suspension was an AAL in the rear .

Funny, hadn't thought of this in years -- my first Wagoneer had broken spring leafs so I bought a second (rot box) and combined the leaf packs + an AAL. In the front I put 2 leafs from a Land Cruiser.

More than 30 years later I bought my first Toyota.

At 57 years - and not counting the clunker I had at college (a 1974 Dodge Dart), I have had 6 vehicles - all new - counting my Tacoma. That's 6 new vehicles over 36 years. Obviously I tend to keep mine awhile.
