I think this time next year they will be more than thriving. Just in the past few months there have been BIG moves over there. New Execs, old CFO booted (this caused the stock to spike along with a soft serve ice-cream cone tweet by RC)

I hate to see this , I bet its probably a construction union, they can layoff who and when. They dont have seniority built into the contract im guessing. I spent 17 years on this type of union(electrical), then moved to a steady stationary job at one place, now this union has seniority rights . I know what ur going through, doesn't help morale one bit.

it’s not like that. The contractors sign with the carpenters and hire Union Labor. As far as I know we are an “at will” state and can be laid off at anytime. It’s actually a good thing because a lot of dead weight can come out of the hall. I’ll lay off dead weight first any day . Doesn’t matter when they start. I’ve been in the Pittsburgh Local for 20 years. :).

This is an ‘employer’ issue at its origin. That said, the union, with a grievance made would reply...’well that contractor provides a lot of hours’...

None of that is recognized where I have worked. Skill nor seniority. I have other book carrying ‘carpenters’ ask me to do carpentry on their homes?!?
So called skilled labor...Not from what I’ve seen!
