Did anybody hear about the Bucks County assistant DA who got in trouble for driving DoorDash while on the clock?

That’s the very same guy who handled the case against the drunk driver who hit my truck back in 2016!

A shame a $125,000.00 does not make ends meet any longer .

I know I would have trouble with a income like that.

I could afford a decent house and at least one really nice vacation a years, in addition to all the expenses related to my truck even though it's paid for!

Welcome!! I was born and raised in Easton! I lived in South Side and Avona Heights (Wilson Boro) until I was 5 and then we moved to Forks Township - lived there until I went off to college. My father was on the faculty at Lafayette College before moving to work at Acopian Technical Company - now Acopian.com - right along 22 as you come into Easton. I ended up back there from 1984-87 as an ROTC instructor at Lafayette and we bought a house on College Hill.

Now I live just north of Scranton but still find my way down to Easton from time to time. Where will you be living?

And, good morning fellow Pennsyltuckyvanians!! Heading out to tame the field mower again today.

    Be safe out there!!

Congratulations. We paid ours off in December of last year. That's why I was able to tell the wife, "I'm getting a Tacoma." It's a great feeling. Just a note, in case you are unaware: you have to contact your taxing authorities and the insurance company, as the mortgage company won't. Also, you should notify the taxing authorities ASAP. Ours was paid off in early December and the first tax is due in February, all the way through August. So, I thought, "let's wait until after the new year to contact these." Well, I called the county on January 4th already to learn it was too late. Apparently - at least in my county - they finalize the tax bills with the address in September of the previous year. I asked for a copy, which the county tax guy was reluctant to send. I guess it's too much work to make a copy and put it in the mail. In fact, he said he would do so only after I shamed him, but then he never sent it. I called a few weeks later and really laid into another worker in the office. Then, they sent a copy. They told me the alternative was to drive to the courthouse and pay in person. That's not very convenient, especially with COVID. The only way I even knew the due dates was because I had kept a paper form the mortgage company that listed the dates of payment. And, of course, the amount due may have changed from the last payment made by the mortgage company. I hope your country is more responsive.

Thanks for the heads up. We pay our taxes separately from the mortgage. I will check and see if we are affected regardless.

I can't remember how mine was originally set up (over 27 years ago), but from day one the taxing authorities had the mortgage company's information and the bills went there and they paid it out of an escrow account. That is where my latest tax bills were sent - to the mortgage company, because they are on record as the one to pay. And when I made my final payment the mortgage company was clear: we don't notify the taxing authorities and we won't send you the bill; once you have paid off your mortgage, we close your account and we are through with you. It's interesting to see the differences. By the way, my mortgage was with Chase.
