Keystone State Thread

Good morning PA TW. Been raining here since yesterday afternoon, but definitely could use it. Well off to get oil for the truck, changing later. Rainy day good day for some shop time. Everyone make the best of the rainy day and be safe.

 

The bee colony is in its new home in our apiary. Unfortunately, we lost several hundred as we worked to make the transition - but when you've got a colony in the 10s of thousands that's not bad and really unavoidable. They were not happy about the move but had settled a bit by the time we got them to our place. Only got stung once - a bee found a crease in my suit and worked his way into my glove. Ouch!

Gonna rain for the next 3 days here

 

The forecast here is for the rain to stop tomorrow morning. We have a rain gauge. I don't know accurate it is, as the opening is about 1 inch. According to the gauge, we have received about one inch so far.

 

This is why you get paid the big $$$$$$ and have all this fun plus your freezer seems to be filled pretty cheap.

 

My joints will agree with that forecast.

 

The rain and cold helped with transferring the bees. Under 50 and they pretty much stay in the hive. I had to replace the water valve on Lynn's mom's refrigerator so after I finished I went back down to the apiary to check on the new colony. They have all found their way back into the hive. We put a new honey super on top to give them room to build so I'm sure they are exploring their new space.

 

I had trouble sleeping last night. With the amount of titanium in my leg. That annoying pain I get kept me up pretty much all night

 

ouch!! Here it was the hard rain on the roof that kept waking me up.

 

It must take forever to number each bee!

 

I could just see Mark standing there with a smoker in one hand and a sharpie in the other… 23, 24, 25… yeah Lynn I’ll have a steak and iced tea for lunch, now where was I… 37, 38, 39.

 

I missed OneWheeling this morning.
I was on an 8 week streak of going to the state park while my wife was at the gym. Slept in this morning.

going to spend today & tomorrow in the garage doing grill stuff. It’s been a while.

 

Yes I will inquire that when I go in for service.

 

Well hope u make enough $$ to pay someone to do those chores. Now the wife ehh, hopefully you'll be home for the birth. How long you going for ?

I had a fun filled day of spreading mulch in the rain today.
