Road trip today. 400+ miles round-trip to Middletown NY to see some of the wife's family. (seems like there are hundreds of them...)
Kept the cruise about 68 max on the way back and was rewarded with almost 24 mpg.
This was a sixth gear for 160 miles run.

I term the sport ride "bang, boom, zoom", even after 400 miles I'm still having fun.

Good morning TW , on our Midwest road trip and stopped at another big boy toy store outside of Chicago.

 

Wow 24mpg. Very impressive. Gen 3 must be the ticket. My 13 with the wild peaks pumped up to 35 and I'm happy with getting 19!!!

I believe the automatic guys can do a little better, the manual spins a bit faster due to the 4:30 gears.

Bumping the speed up to 70-71 will cut it down to 21 or so, just that 3-4 mph makes a big difference.

 

Meh, only if it's on flat ground because that thing will be shifting, shifting, shifting, constantly otherwise

The only "highway" I'll take is the PA Turnpike and I'll have the cruise set on 80, so no decent mileage out of me. My work commute is also all state and back roads, so there's no constant speed, so I might get 22 out of a tank during the summer. Winter was 19.

 

Spend the 200-300 and tune it! Vftune… like a new truck Adam

 

Nah, still got a little over 4 years on the powertrain warranty. My luck I'd get the tune, a month later have the valve spring failure, and they say it was due to the tune. I'll ride it out till the warranty is out.

I just use the dealer but if I were to have an issue that they could not resolve, I would go straight to Spence.

I’ve given up using cruise control, the gear hunting never stops.
