That's what I'm thinking but perhaps someone more local or who has at least spent more time in Philly than I have might know more. Thanks,

Honestly from what Iv seen with brake rotors. They dont hold up with our winters… 2-3 years depending mileage driven, the rotors rust away. As far as Coated rotors…. Its not worth the money. Seen these last no longer and take more money out of your wallet. I tend to think the best rotor is probably the dealership rotor…. Unless someone else knows better. After market ones are a hit or miss and can be an expensive hit or miss

Yea coated rotors are pretty much the best thing since sliced bread!

I was surprised the hardware wasn't lubed from factory. The aluminum corrosion was definitely starting to set in. Makes me want to pull apart the Tacoma's brakes and lube them up to prevent it.

Well, I got 6 years out of the factory brakes, so that's not bad. The "street performance" coated rotors were only a couple more bucks. We'll see how they do. The car doesn't get driven much in winter now that there's two 4wds in the fleet.

Also cars kept in the garage tend to last longer and not rust away so bad….another big factor

Stopped on the way home @ mile run to help some guys with a trailer. Turns out the wheel came loose and wallowed out all the holes in the hub for the studs. Helped them get the wheel off with the payload of tools I tend to carry in the toolbox. We pulled the hub and decided there was really no safe way to put a new wheel on it, so they were going to unload the trailer (hauling a truck) and drive both to tractor supply with the empty trailer on 3 tires. Unfortunately nothing else I could do.

Pointed them to the nearest tractor supply in Milton and went home.

    Stuff. Things.
    Who are you going with?
The fancier they get the more the tag goes up, we kept ours pretty reasonable, $746 was the final quote. But a few things have been added and removed so that’s a ball park number. All said and done I’m not exactly sure off hand. Hasn’t been a lot of sleep since it got here between equipment going on and driver training. I’m about to take out another driver now. And hopefully get at least 2 hours to get home and do my normal weekend chores.

    Good deeds:
I'm coming out of WM and notice an older gentleman struggling to put his purchases in his vehicle.

Like the good guy I try to be I step up and say "need a hand sir?"
"NO, I'V GOT IT!" he barks back at me...
I was startled by his very harsh reply -- until I noticed -- the gentleman was missing his left hand. :anonymous:

Hah, that happened to me at work a while ago when I was still on night shift. There was a guy that was loading some heavy IC's (incompatibles for the belt system) and was slightly struggling. Ask him if he needed a hand. Looked at me funny and then raised his hand that is deformed from a birth defect. I was mortified, but luckily the guy started laughing his ass off. I thought my ass was going strait to HR...
