Good morning. Rain coming, again, later this afternoon. I will to get the grass cut before it comes, as we are going on a vacation, leaving this weekend. I don't wish to come home to a jungle in my yard.

Thanks. The wife and I are taking my grandson to Niagara Falls. He's never been there. I'm not a beach kind of guy, so this is a good vacation for me. We haven't been there since the Spring of 2001, when we took our daughter and her German exchange student. We had 3 German exchange students visit for a month for 3 consecutive years when my daughter was in high school. The first we took to D.C. The next 2 we took to Niagara Falls. Those students wanted to go badly. They told us that Germans have the Falls high on their visit list. Anyway, it's a short drive and the weather is supposed to be rain free. The only downside is the Canadian side is still off limits.

I can't find a good spot.

 

Love Niagara falls , been there many times always see something different, one of the world's finest. Wife and I purposely got passports to visit the Canadian side but covid shut it down but just heard on kdka it's reopening mid August. Funny story, we went up a while back to see the falls frozen but it was so freaking cold we only stayed 10 minutes! I'm thinking the mist in the air made it unbearable. Enjoy and cool off.

 

I was there once, about 35 years ago, in February. It is awesome to see them partially froze over. I have seen them at least 4 times in my life. Science is my grandson's favorite school subject (there aren't many, LOL), so I think he's going to enjoy it. My wife might do a little gambling too at the casino, so I think we will have a pleasant stay.

 

That thing is a beast.

We hosted numerous German exchange students when I was growing up.
My mom immigrated to the US on a boat in the 60’s from Germany.
+40 years later she’s still got an identifiable accent but since she’s my mom I don’t hear it.
