Ur dead on with that thinking. I also like using the windows when driving. Different when with the wife or dressed up.

Agreed on the vehicle AC. When I get home I do appreciate the AC, I definitely wouldn’t sleep well without it.
I work outside every day donning a full body Nomex(fire retardant clothing). That said, all my windows are open in the Tacoma for the home commute.

Pretty much the only time I use AC in a vehicle is if someone else is along. Given a choice I would probably purchase a vehicle that didn't have it I use it so rarely. Of course most of the time I travel by motorcycle so I'm used to not having or using it.

    Afternoon folks!

Tis a little warm today. Got the grass all mowed finally. Probably spent an hour with the weed eater just edging sidewalks. o_O

Got the new TPS sensor put in the Talon the other day and was finally able to take it for a long run. Seemed to run better and no more code for it now. That little $30 bluetooth scanner has been a life saver. Might feel frisky and drive it to work one day this week. Something about a basic car, manual Trans, crank windows, and no nannies to worry about has an appeal. The ball joint boots are dry rotted off so it won't see too many miles till this winter when it gets tore apart for rust repair. The exhaust is still obnoxiously loud, part of me loves it

The dual control electric mattress pad was a great buy. In the winter I might have my side on at the lowest setting -- she has her side on inferno, reaching over there is like sticking you hand in an oven. (Talk about having a hot wife )

Shit bolted onto other shit, and junk.
A bit of an open question here but trying to research the best location to retire in and start an automotive restoration shop. That is less relevant as the advantages of PA over NY. My wife and I will both be retired military and looking to retire in upstate NY or NE PA. She is from Long Island but I finally convinced her it was too expensive there. We get cancer treatment at Sloan Kettering so that is a requirement to stay relatively close to the city of New York. I know both PA and NY don’t tax military retirements but not sure of any Purple Heart benefits or property tax relief or even which state is less invasive for vehicle modifications. Thank you.

I'm a born and raised PA guy - retired after 26 years of active service and moved back to northeast PA. I would definitely pick NEPA over anywhere in NY for less intrusion into life and auto matters. PA does offer reduced license plate costs for Purple Heart awardees but there is no property tax relief. We do have an annual safety inspection requirement and most areas also have a emissions inspection.

With the closeness to I84 and I80, travel into NYC is pretty quick and easy.

Feel free to PM me if I can be of any assistance to you as you go through your decision process - and thank you both for your Service to our Nation!
