For the first time ever (not online I mean) I had another Tacoma owner start chatting with me about my truck while getting gas at Sams Club yesterday. He was complimenting me on how I changed out the center caps and lug nuts on my wheels. I know it’s not a big deal to most, but with how this week has been it made me smile.

Pulled up to a red light with the windows down blasting the theme song from The Sopranos like 20 minutes ago, looked over, and noticed the woman in the Mercedes next to me was rocking out to my stereo!

 

Inspections in Pa not going away anytime soon. In fact, they will cost you more with the State's proposed taxed by the mile driven instead of tax on a gallon of gas. Trying to get ahead of the EV. Also, back in the day, Pa car inspections were TWICE a year, no joke.

 

Same in Franklin county.

For the non-riders IBA is the Iron Butt Association an organization for long distance motorcycle riders. Minimum requirement for membership is a documented ride over 1000 miles or more in 24 hours or less. I've done 5 so far.

 

I am seriously not above lying about how many miles I put on my truck per year, but I’ll probably just flee the state and move somewhere more tax-friendly before that happens

Also, it was only safety inspections, not emission that was twice a year; It ended in 1983, thankfully…

Honestly, I think it’s conflict of interest that the people who inspect our vehicles are the very same people who make money from fixing them; My mechanic is honest, but I’ve heard a lot of horror stories about cars failing inspection for shit that seemed to mysteriously appear!

 

Don't think lying about mileage will work, since it is recorded at inspection.

Soooo. Your friend takes his busted up car in for inspection. To a dealer no less.And the state inspection rules and inspection mechanics are somehow to blame?
