During my Army days I was assigned to the US Embassy in Tunisia for a year and a half. Many of the locals believed they would save gas if they turned off their lights a night so they would use the center line to guide them. Talk about a heart pounding moment when one of those entered your headlight beam range.

    Good morning, fellow Pennsyltuckyvanians!!

I did absolutely nothing yesterday other than sleep for a few hours after running out to get the prescription filled for antibiotics. Didn't fill the Oxy pain killer one - Motrin knocked down the last of the pain and by noon all the pain of passing the kidney stone was gone.

Feeling great this morning so I am heading out to play in a Patriot's Day golf fundraiser in Wilkes Barre.

Life is, once again, good. Stay safe out there!!

Good morning. @Devious6, I don't like to fill those prescriptions for opioids either. I have seen too many peple get addicted and I just never wished to take the chance. Speaking of health, I am going to the local Costco this morning to get a flu and shingles vaccine. This is the first time for the shingles vaccine. My wife, who is less willing to submit herself to such things got one last year and she encouraged me to get one because, we aren't getting any younger.

Amen to all of that. Don't forget about the Pneumococcal vaccine, too. Lynn and I all loaded up with the "old folks" vaccines now. We are going to make an appointment for a drive-by flu shot that our primary care physician's group does for both of us and Lynn's 94 year old mom.

Smart man! My 80 year old dad (in below average health) got the shingles vaccine a few years back but he's currently down hard with it. He's had it about a month and he's slowly improving but he's been miserable.

That's what I have heard, that it is very painful. I guess the vaccination only lasts so long? I hope your father recovers quickly and fully.

There are actually two vaccines. The older version was less effective. The new one that you'll get is something like 95% effective. We had the old one and then got the new one last year.

Hello, PATW. Hope everyone had a good weekend. I had fun weekend. Got some seat time in, with the bike. Weather permitting, going to race this weekend. Tonight going to drop the truck back off for the rest of that recall work. They are putting a new fuel cell and evap lines in and swapping my new fuel pump over to this fuel cell lol. While it is there, I was going to see if they would put on a TRD skid plate, if they have one in stock? You think they would? Should take like 15mins to throw on? If not, I'll just do it myself, if they have one. 5.jpg

A dealership will charge labor to install the skid plate (assuming they have one) at the documented standard rate unless you have a very good relationship with them. Not sure what that is but probably at least 30 minutes to an hour.

That's annoying. I have a decent relationship with them. The fact that they noticed my evap lines seemed "loose" while doing the fuel pump recall and told me they wanted to replace the fuel cell and all of the lines at no charge etc. I figured, since they were doing that, I'd have no problem buying something off of them. I just don't want to pay an extra $100 for something I can do in my driveway in under 30mins lol.

Yep, you nailed it. My dad was scheduled to receive the new vaccine on a Wednesday and came down with it on the Monday before. Crazy timing.

Yesterday I was at Switchback. This weekend if it doesn't rain I am going to High Point. I usually don't travel too far, so I try to stay within 1-2hr drive from me.
