I think the metro was a combined effort between GM and Suzuki?

I believe you are right, there was a Suzuki Swift too, even turbo versions. Not a bad car, just a cheap car, at that price point (and weight) you can't really engineer in a great deal of durability. With good care they did well.

A co-worker had one with rusty rocker panels, he filled them with expanding foam to pass inspection. He didn't care enough to trim the foam so for months drove around with foam-sickles hanging off the bottom of the car until the road spray wore them away.

The suspension failed on that one too -- he let his step son drive it for one day because he had broken his own car, naturally the (idiot) kid couldn't just drive responsibly to work and back... :smack:

I actually had a Metro convertible that I never drove, kind of an accidental buy.

The wife & I were at an auction, I had heard the car run from about 50 feet away but had no interest in it -- well, it was going cheap, the wife thought it was cute -- and I like her, so I ended up buying the car. (which I hadn't looked at)

So, part 2: The driver door won't open, it is an automatic (who buys an automatic with 3 cylinders...o_O) and there is a noise in the engine...
$100 to have it towed home. I moved it around the garage for a few years and sold it for about 1/2 of what I had in it.

The moral of the story: Don't take you wife to auctions.

They are Diode, I got the SAE ones but I haven't had the chance to run them at night or been flashed bc they are too bright.

Yeah David texted my Dad and my Boy about getting together Saturday morning to do a serious shed hunt. Easier before everything starts growing. Not to sound strange but had a nice chat with my Sister who has passed. Three minutes later I found this shed. Take it for what you will....

Took Ginger for a trip around the block, first time on the pavement since November.

Felt good to zip along swapping gears after driving my creaky old daily van for the last 4 months. The van does have a far superior stereo though. ;)
:burnrubber: Boy that needs cleaning! I didn't get around the that big interior detail I had planned for the Winter. Just too damn cold...

I got it in August of 2019 with 12,000 miles and never drove it to work once, just recreational driving.

I went about 12,000 miles last year . I did daily it all summer, the brakes needed work on the van and I wasn't too enthused about fixing them. I did some road tripping to get vintage iron too -- and mostly a lot of aimless cruising around. :)

    Good morning fellow Pennsyltuckyvanians!!

My 2020 is sitting at 15,485 miles - COVID and retirement slowed my need to drive down a lot.

My 2004 Access Cab OR was even better - I bought it in July 2012 from the second owner. It had 27k miles on it then. When I sold it in January 2020 to the third owner, it had 41k miles on it. Still running strong.
