How do u apply it? With fluid film , I heat it up untill it gets real thin and hurry up and put it in a gravity HF spray gun and spray the underneath. $42 gets me 1 gal, and I can get about 6 sprays/years out of it. 1 spray a year, usually fall.

This was my initial setup (outside hook-up, isolated) but I was never home when the power went out and the basement would flood. The whole-house generator was like the "final" iteration.

Can't "like" this except for the happy ending. That's a rough day.

Looks like the squirrel nest that I had under my hood....except a bit (OK, a lot) bigger.

@steelcity2 Thanks. I was able to get most of the stuff on the side out with just my shirt sleeve. Some branches got wedged in the crossbars and pushed the roof in a little, but I didn't really have time to inspect what those did. Not too worried about what I can't see though.

@TinyTech626 Thanks! Yeah the dumb accidents are the good ones. We've been pretty good lately. Had a stretch a year or two ago where our drivers were making some dumb mistakes but we made everyone re-qualify and started a yearly refresher so ever since then its been good. But we ordered a new tanker and we're building a rescue-pumper to replace the 2019 so hopefully we can keep the dents and scratches away from those for a long time! We don't do parades, but we want to keep them "parade ready" lol.

@RustyGreen @9mmMike Thanks gents. He's been back to normal now. Not sure what he got into, but with all this rain it could have been drinking from the puddles in the backyard. Hard to keep eyes on him all the time out there.

Well I guess I didn't look close enough. Might have got some smaller dents in the roof as well.

Good morning, fellow Pennsyltuckyvanians!!! ALmost all of the snow is gone here but the yards are soaking wet. Hopefully we won't have much rain for awhile so things can start to dry out.

We got an auto-start backup generator when we built our house back in 2004. Back then, our electrician told us that it could not power the outlets in the bedrooms - or an arc-fault circuit because they sensed them as sparking and would shut down. So, we powered key portions like well, septic, refrigerator/freezer, heat some lights, etc. It required a separate panel for the circuits that would be powered by the generator and powered on after 25 seconds without power. That one eventually crapped out after 15 years and we upgraded to the current generation of the saw sized generator....only now it didn't need a separate panel and senses loads and will power down circuits to make up for heavy loads somewhere else so it powers everything...including the microwave. Comes on automatically after 30 seconds of no power.

The only other thing I found that has helped was to put a UPS on my computer/modem/hard drives so that they never lose power - cost maybe $125 and gives me up to an hour of power.

Lol, We just got a new Rescue-pumper to replace our 2001, within a day of it being in the station someone messed up the paint on the deck gun, and then it’s first call the paint on the cab got gouged with the irons. So. Good luck lol. Our dumb luck seems to happen in 3’s, to the same person, ladder truck driver training, kid crushes the cord reel and coffin box on the main trying to cradle the main, pulled out of the building his next time out and took the siding of the garage door aaaand then smacked a bank of snow and ripped the exhaust off. This round we’re only at 2, incidents with the same guy (different then the kid driver training). Hopefully it stays that way.

    but I’ve gotta ask, you’re replacing a 2019???
(If that’s a dumb question I haven’t had my coffee yet..)

Morning all from Topsail Beach, NC. Little cool here this morning at 50 degrees. Dianne is rethinking her choice of wearing her mesh jacket for this trip. Working out way home. Little over 1900 miles so far.

I'd advise against shutting it off completely. Doing so can cause leaks at the coil gasket, I would just turn the low limit down to 100
Repairs involve a new gasket, pulling the coil, seized, broken bolts.
