I’m off all week I love shift work. Working Memorial Day and getting double time and a half. What mods to buy :boink:

its nice on a holiday you don’t care to work but ones like Christmas suck to have to be there.

I did the same. Hope I make it to Friday! This is a long week. In Phoenix today, San Antonio Tuesday Wednesday and northern West Virginia on Thursday.

Then time to relax for 4 days.

I’m a fan of shift work, but the schedule we follow blows. Work 4 nights, off 3, work 3 days, off 1, work 3 nights, off for 3, work 4 days, off for 7. So far I’ve worked a lot of the holidays, and I’ve worked a lot of 7 day-ers. So there’s been a lot of time and a half and double time which has helped. But I spend most of my days off sleeping and switching to the next shift. Nights to days are the worst for me, easier for me to go from day to nights.

I’m also working Memorial Day but I’m on my first set of 4 nights. Already spent the double time on new Tires for the truck, they should be here Friday… then it’s :sawzall: time once I can get a few days lined up.

Some stuff. Not a lot, just some.
I worked that shift years ago. It was nice because you had a whole week off and you could get stuff done during the week. We also got 8 hours OT every other week and 4 free hours on the weeks in between.

The whole switching between days and nights would be murder for me.

I changed from 5-3:30 to 7-5:30 2 weeks ago and my sleep schedule is still fucked up. I'm a creature of habit I guess and I've been waking up at 3am for a decade.

I'd have to go through it again I'm sure I have some truck stuff in there that I no longer use or need.

I did one a couple years ago. Sold a bunch of stuff that I had just sitting in there.

I will admit the week off is nice, but I am usually dead beat by Friday and Saturday. Since starting I’ve only had that week off 3 times outta 10(?) months, this week being my third time and first time actually taking time off.

At my way back job another fellow and I would work holidays when the plant was shut down.
We would plan & gather materials ahead of time and stage them near the jobs.
We busted @$$ and got a lot done -- walked out beat, dirty and very satisfied with our day.

    Sounds great doesn't it.....

Our boss noticed how much we got done and thought he could come in and get a lot of desk work done without interruptions --
but he would get lonely --
    and page us --
to come to the office --
to talk about inane things... :annoyed::annoyed:
    :ballchain::ballchain:
