Went to the horseshoe curve in Altoona yesterday. Great ride and weather. I could sit by the tracks all day.

 

Good afternoon pa peeps. Just finished replacing front and rear brakes on the work truck. Fresh oil change and cabin filter. Now time to hop in the pool.

Good morning all! Busy weekend for me, Haar's Drive In movies Friday night and stayed for both movies so never got home until almost 2 then got up and headed to Harrisburg for the Meecum auction. Spent a few hours looking at stuff I really can't afford. Managed to get a motorcycle ride in Sunday and visit the last ice cream shop I needed to complete my PA Scoops Ice Cream Trail.

If you are ever down in West Grove, make sure to stop at The Station Ice Cream. Their blueberry is incredible.

We finally got some much needed rain. We got more rain this morning than we did all of last month. Unfortunately I don't think it's enough to turn my grass green

I live like 20min form there and have never been there.

 

Well if u like trains, and nature you'll like it. Altoona has such a train history, building cars , maintaining them. Years back when my kids we little we went to the train museum in town . In fact I had 2 friends from my apprenticeship class from Altoona and they worked on that museum and thought hey this would be a nice day trip. Very nice up there, we also visited Lakemont amusement park. DelGrosso Park , Benzel pretzel, Boyer Candy and AA baseball team The Curve.
Dan , anything else around there to see? Looks like some great hunting and fishing.

 

Honestly I couldn't really tell you. I don't venture into Altoona or Johnstown regularly. I try to stay away from people haha. I'm pretty close to the Cambria/Clearfield County Line... There is good hunting and fishing up here... Depends on what you are looking for though. Altoona, I believe there are some good trout streams down around there though. But like I said I tend to stay away from Altoona if possible.

 

Catching up on things around here after a busy day yesterday. We had a large number of family over yesterday and it was a most enjoyable visit. Still too muggy out there for me.
