My maternal grandmother was German-American, with original roots from your way. Brats, dogs, potato salad with mustard - all good.

Since everyone is talking about the rain, finally started here steady around 5. I haven't mowed in three weeks, and refused to mow in advance, since it has been forecast and never arrived so many times. If it comes out of dormancy then maybe I'll need to mow next weekend. Only the shady parts of my yard are green and my potato plants took a beating this summer, lost a little less than 50 percent, but the garlic didn't survive at all. The sunny side of the neighbors oak tree is fried brown. The Romas did ok, since they are shaded by a fence, needed some TLC though.

Hello, I live in Michigan and recently found out about the Penn Wild. Was thinking about planning a trip there this fall. I understand its a big place. Whose been there and what did you like about it? Where are some cool places to camp at? We can boondock for a few days but we like state parks and out of the way campgrounds too. We are shooting for about 4 days there. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I am still researching the area but wanted to hear from people that may have been there. TIA

I've ridden a motorcycle through the "PA Grand Canyon". very cool. Stayed at the Penn Wells Hotel.

However, if you're looking for camp sites and such, I'd start here: https://www.fs.usda.gov/activity/allegheny/recreation/camping-cabins

    Have fun!

My grass, trees and other plants polity disagree with the normal shown in Chester county. They asked that I kindly let everyone know before they completely wither away.
    Thank you

Please accept my apologies in the typos in the last comment. The trees wrote the note and being near dead may have made some mistakes in the spelling

The PA Wilds is a big area. There are camp sites all through Bald Eagle State Forest (there's another thread on here somewhere regarding them). I drive through them every day. For my area, I'd recommend both RB Winter and Poe Valley, though there are a ton of commercial and state camp grounds to choose from.
