Good morning. Grandson had a huge assignment due this morning. He's a procrastinator. We were up until just about midnight, me assisting him to get it done. My old brain can't handle that stuff any more. Have a good Friday.

I will be missing AOAA this year but will be getting my ass there next year. Hope to be at the takeover at Rausch next year too.

 

Haha. I remember in school and college I always thought "I can't wait to get to work so I would have evenings to myself with no work." Yet last night (and many, many others) I found myself answering emails and building reports until 11 at night

 

We were working with exponents and fractions with exponents and imaginary numbers, etc. I had calculus and high school and college but that was 40 -45 years ago. I had to Google search how to do many of the problems so that I could explain it to my grandson. Like many, math is his worst subject. We spent almost 6 hours on it. My getting old brain was fried.

 

Hahah well tell him it MIGHT come in handy one day. I actually do use calculus at work from time to time. I had to do an online refresher the first time it popped up and I was only 4 years out of college at that point!

 

It's hard to remember it if you don't use it. He's not much for school and already has a sarcastic, if not pragmatic side to him. He always says, "why do I have to learn this? I'm never going to use it." He's thinking of a trade or vocational school. They just opened up a 4 year one, just 6 miles down the road. Unlike Vo-Tech: a 1/2 a day for the last 2 years, this one is all in house, grades 9-12. I am ready to encourage him in whatever he does.
