Dudes, know the hurt but during Covid in 2020, I had a new roof put on since most folks were not working so got a great deal and even upgraded the singles and warranty. Had a whole house generator put in in 2021 again because work was still a bit slow and i'm running propane to the house and generator. 500 gallon at a lot lower cost then oil right now, then in early 2022 had the AC, furnace and water heater all done since it’s 20 years old. Not many people looking to do work during March like this.
I took advantage of that basterd Covid and of the down times when most don’t have much work.
Yeah, I still paid but not as much as during peak times.
I know something will go soon but the essential stuff is done. Love having the propane right now.
Time to put some funds back in the bank for whatever

What I've seen at work with the contractors is cat 6E now. Home depot should have jacks (rRJ45)and wall plates that u would need. Or someone like graybar. If you don't have the punch down tool I think some brands sell or include a plastic push insert tool to terminate the back side of the jacks. If u have any questions just ask or u can PM me.

5e rated to gigabit, 6a rated to 10gigabit over 100m. For a home network 5e will be fine especially since it's not a permanent in-wall run.

On the heating front, I bought and installed a pellet stove and 4 tons of pellets for less than I would expect to spend on oil at these prices.

Need some lift advice. My baby has seen lots of action off-road with the stock suspension. I am ready to replace it and lift the truck.

Now come some of the caveats.. I don't want to re-gear so I am thinking I only want to fit 33's on the truck and not 35's. So my next question is should I lift the truck 3 or 6 inches?

I do not do a bunch of rock climbing, but I find myself bottoming out quite a bit on the trails I go on where I am dragging the belly. I need to find a good setup that doesn't break the bank but I also want something that isn't cheap and wont give me issues. What are some recommended setups that I should consider and does anyone know somebody that can do the work on it.

I have looked at some shops online but I am really nervous about cost and workmanship to get this done. I go off-roading a lot and I don't need shitty work causing me issues on the trails.

Truck is a 2020 TRD PRO.. She has seen lots of action. She got some dings and dents in her, but she has always got me home. I really want to get this done right so I can continue to enjoy the trails!

Any help would be very much appreciated!

Not to be that guy, but lifts don't provide ground clearance, tires do. Granted, lifts provide breakover angle.

When looking at a suspension setup you basically have to ask yourself what's your budget, and build accordingly. Most of us that are into it run Kings/Fox/Icon/ADS with UCAs and full leaf pack replacements. You're looking at ~4-5k for the setup. If you're going to go extended travel in the rear you also need to do brake lines which isn't a major cost but still something to think about.

Of course, when you're looking at a suspension you also have to look at what else you're carrying. I run ADS with 700lb coils cranked basically to manufacturer max because I run a heavy as fuck front bumper with a winch and full skids/sliders. YMMV.

Seriously appreciate the insight. So here is my dilemma.. Most of the trails I run are forest trails. Quite a few have ruts that I easily sink into.. Some have some huge ass mud holes where the water is up to my doors.. Hidden rocks within them. My front factory skid plate has some nice dings in it... I have Cali rock sliders on it, Victory 4x4 steel front bumper and APEX 12k winch. I put on a steel offroad rear bumper.. I have BF KO2's on the original 16 inch rims and I run fine with this setup. But I am tired of bottoming out. Suspension is starting to squeak quite a bit from playing hard on some heavily rutted trails.

4 or 5k Doesnt scare me for a good setup.. Installation on the other hand scares me quite a bit especially if I dont have a good place to get this work done.

I would easily step up to 17 inch rims and tires to fit what I want.. I wont do the work myself because thats a bit over my skill level.. I still use this as a daily driver for now till its paid off in 3 years.. Then it will be purely my offroad toy.. Thats why I have reservations about putting 35's on it because of gas mileage and power loss.. Talk me into setting this truck up the right way so I can keep playing hard with options for the future.

Wife just surprised me with early XMAS present with Victory 4X4 Front, Mid and Transfercase skids that I will be putting on when I get a nice day.. But thats more weight to suspension that already has some issues..

    HELP :)

it's rough when multiple things happen in a short timeframe. if it makes you feel better, in the not-too-distant past, my house cost me a new roof, a/c unit, furnace and hot water heater. I'm talking in the span of 3 years or less. :annoyed:

My house came with a 25+yr old Kenmoore. the belt broke and I bought a new one, still runs. the basic model is still used today in low-end dryers so parts are readily available online.

It's in my garage right now since I bought my buddy's used Whirlpool with Steam dry for my dress clothes

If you can grab some 1/2" PVC conduit and run it through that unless you want to pinch it in a window. I got lucky, my 2nd floor outside wall baseboards allow me to run cables down to the first floor. I have network at a couple locations along with a mesh wireless

and yeah 5E should be fine but 6 is mostly the same price now. Monoprice is a good resource but I've been getting the "pass-thru" RJ45 and Klein tool (Jungle site is good too). I'm no expert but it makes cables a little faster

Morning to all. 31 degrees as of 600. No sir, don’t like this.
Think it’s too cold to wash the truck?

I feel much better this morning after yesterday dentist appointment. Got a good night's rest. It might be a bit cold out this morning but was refreshing when I walked out side. No wind. But I think they are calling for strong winds later this afternoon.

Nice! I'm going to keep that site bookmarked and keep my eyes peeled for your install and afterthoughts.

Good morning all! Started my morning off with pumpkin pie and coffee. Now I'm chopping up stuff and starting to slow cook a small batch of venison stew.
