Found out never even cooked it. It was dropped off to my sister's house a half hour ago. Sisters cooking it tomorrow night and I'll be there. They took it out the car and just put it in their spare fridge. Mass confusion is my guess.

I've never witnessed anybody in their birthday suit, but I did observe somebody doing the heroin nod on a bench at college back in like 2013-2014. It was fairly early in the morning, and this guy was about to fall over; I didn't know the effects of heroin back then, and when I asked if he was okay, a girl who was with him said he simply hadn't gotten a lot of sleep the night before. I don't think he was overdosing, and I don't know for sure it was heroin, but that girl was full of shit about the guy not getting enough sleep the previous night.

I've shared this story in my MegaThread before, but I don't think I've shared it here. This happened in probably September of 2014, and we were still living at the old house in Furlong. It had just rained, I'd forgotten to bring in the trash, and my mom sent me to do it.

I don't remember if this was a weekday or a weekend, and I have no idea where my dad was, but he wasn't won't. It was just my mom and me. It was late summer or early fall if I remember correctly.

I had just brought the garbage cans in, and all of a sudden I detected movement out of the corner of my eye. The next thing I knew, this kid in his early 20s was in my driveway pleading with me to help him; I have no idea where this kid came from, but I believe he was hiding in the bushes at my neighbor's house across the street.

We lived in an end unit townhouse in a 6-unit building, and the townhouses across the street all had walkout basements and were located on a hill; I believe this kid might have run up the hill, given how out of breath he was.

I did not get a bad vibe from this kid whatsoever. He was a relatively small white guy with curly brown hair, wearing long pants and a sweatshirt, and he looked like he'd been crouching in mulch; I did not feel threatened by this guy, and he proceeded to follow me into the garage. Our townhouse had a 2-car front entry garage with two or three wooden steps that brought you into the house in the laundry room. Unsure of what else to do, I left him in the garage and went to get my mom.

When we came out, the poor kid was sitting on the cement floor of the garage, at the bottom of the wooden stairs.

He told me that he was 20 years old and from what I was able to piece together of his story, he had been in the Air Force, stationed in Japan. He went on to tell me that he had gotten caught drinking underage and had been kicked out; I was a bit confused by this because I thought people in the military under the age of 21 were allowed to drink while stationed overseas, if they were stationed in a country that allowed alcohol consumption under the age of 21, and more importantly if they were off duty.

He then went on to tell me that he'd arrived home to a less-than-friendly reception from his family, and he claimed to live in our neighborhood. There were almost 400 townhomes in our neighborhood, and I probably knew less than a dozen families in the whole neighborhood. We lived there for nine years and didn't meet most of the people who also lived there, but whether or not he and/or his family lived there is besides the point...

Anyway, this is where the story gets weird. Our hapless airman had a Japanese-spec iPhone that would not work in America, and I have no idea if he had a driver's license. He didn't have a car and even if he did, he was in no condition to drive; I let him use my iPhone to call one of his friends, who agreed to let him crash at their house.

This was before I had started using Uber, otherwise I would have called him one and eaten the cost just to get his ass out of my garage.

Even though I had established that this guy was not a threat, he was still a stranger. Even if he was a friend, he was covered in dirt and smelled like he'd shit his pants; I was not about to let his filthy as in my truck.

Over the course of our exchange, my mom and I asked him questions. He told us that he'd fled his parents' house after a domestic dispute, but then he said he was hiding from people who wanted to hurt him and/or his family. My mom asked if he was hiding from drug dealers, and his exact words were "no, drug users..."

That part was the most confusing; I honestly don't think he lived in our neighborhood, nor did he even know where the hell he was. I surmised that he'd had a bad reaction to whatever he took, was running from nonexistent people, and had been hiding in the bushes at a neighbor's house for an hour or more. He definitely came from across the street, because the "thing" I saw out of the corner of my eye was him bolting across the street.

He remained curled up in a fetal position on the floor of my parents' garage for good half hour, and refused to leave; I made it abundantly clear from the moment he showed up that he was NOT coming inside my house, and he seemed to be understand this. Unfortunately, he refused to leave our garage because he was convinced whoever he was convinced was after him would get him as soon as he stepped outside.

I wanted to call the cops, but my mom was worried that he might come back to our house and do something bad as revenge if he got arrested. This kid had a JDM smartphone that didn't not work, but he had a valid credit card; I called him a taxi and explained the situation. They said they'd have a car there within the hour.

We weren't about to leave this poor bastard in the garage, so I made a deal with him. I would give him an old blanket and he could hunker down in the bed of my truck until the taxi arrived. He was absolutely convinced that someone would come after him if he stepped out into the open, but he agreed to the compromise of hiding under a blanket in the back of my truck.

I called a well-known taxi service in our area that had a wide range of vehicles in its fleets, primarily Crown Vics and minivans, but also Camrys, and even a few "luxury cars". These consisted of Lincoln Town Cars and Chrysler 300s The taxi dispatcher told me that there were no regular taxis in the immediate area, but they could have a luxury sedan at my house within the hour and it wouldn't cost extra; 45 minutes or so later, I heard an unfamiliar engine outside, looked out the window of my 2nd floor bedroom, and saw the kid getting into a black Chrysler 300.

I never saw or heard from him again, and I say once again that he likely wandered into my neighborhood in a drug-induced stupor. He more than likely hid in some bushes, and as soon as I opened the garage door to bring in the garbage, he ran towards the light.

I know people who have taken meth before, and I know a couple people who were full blown addicts, but both of have been sober for many years. Looking back on encounters I've had in the last decade, I think it's safe to say that a lot of those people were under the influence of something...

The dishonorably discharged airman who showed up in my driveway was a fairly obvious case of being drugged up on something. One encounter I can remember vividly was at the annual carnival put on by Archbishop Wood every year, probably back in 2013 or 2014. My best friend Mike and I were waiting in line for one of the rides, and this kid who didn't even look old enough to drive (maybe 16 at the oldest) came up to me. He was a blonde kid, wearing shorts and a T-shirt, and he just came right up to me at random. He started thigh-bumping me and chanting "Come on and show the boys your tits" or something like that...

This was a kid, at a carnival in the parking lot of a Catholic school, in broad daylight; I wasn't going to kick his ass, but I guarantee that I gave him a look which said otherwise. I just stared at him and said "Who the hell are you?" or something. He responded with "Who the hell ae you?!?!" and ran off, disappearing into the crowd as quickly as he'd shown up.

A college buddy of mine went to that church along with his family, and in 2012-2014, he was basically managing the carnival. I don't remember if this was the same year as the "Show the boys your tits" kid, but my friend told me that he'd witnessed a middle school kid walk up to an attractive but random high school age girl, and outright asked her to show him her boobs. My friend told me that this girl had responded by punching the kid in the face and knocking him flat on his ass. He did absolutely nothing to intervene, coming to the conclusion that the little shit had gotten exactly he deserved.

If I had the encounter with the blonde kid the same year Tim witnessed the girl punching a kid, I have absolutely no doubt that it was the same kid...

I smoked weed once back in 2015, I've smoked cigars before, and there have been numerous times when I've consumed entirely too much alcohol, but I've never smoked a cigarette or done any hard drugs. With the fentanyl crisis, it is highly unlikely that I will ever even smoke weed again. There are exactpions to the rule, but I've found that people with autism tend not to do drugs beyond marijuana. None of the people with Aspergers who I know personally have ever done coke, heroin, or meth. My friend Anna is 25, but refuses to drink alcohol, and this has done wonders for her health (among other things). The youngest person on the spectrum in my group of friends is 22, and Anna is the only one who doesn't drink at all. In my inner circle, the guys including myself prefer beer, while the girls prefer mixed drinks.

I will partake in mixed drinks from time to time, but while I have sampled various hard liquors in the last couple of years I have not seriously done shots since before the pandemic. One of my friends who isn't on the spectrum plays bass in his dad's band, and the band was playing at this place in New Hope in January 2020. The wife of the lead singer/guitar player kept buying shot of whiskey for me and the wife of the bass player, and the only reason I kept drinking them is because I wasn't paying for them. My friend is no longer married to the woman who was sitting with me, but she is still in the circle of friends. I had intended on drinking heavily that night and had a sober ride home, but I did not intend on drinking as heavily as I actually drank that night; I got trashed! My friend's ex-wife is half Russian and half Ukrainian, so she drank me under the table, but we both got TRASHED.

I don't know if this an autism thing or a Charlie thing but I can go weeks, even a month or more, without drinking a single beer; I then find myself at either a friend's party or a very joyous occasion and get hammered. A prime example of this would be my cousin's wedding, at a brewery, in July 2016.

    :drunk:

But yeah, some people with autism who I know smoke cigarettes and drink. Some smoke weed. None of them have done hard drugs.

I was only a couple miles from home and I just sat in my driveway wondering WTF just all happened for a couple minutes. I used to live in town and never had anything like all what has been going on here now. Move out to the country they said, it'll be fun they said... o_O

My boy works state parole and was assigned to a wonderful area know as North Philly. Anyone that knows Philly and that section, specifically the K & A section knows what kind of zombies walk the streets. The story’s are amazing and sad. Some of his people do try and comply but the times he needed to join in with state or local authorities to het a house open to get to someone that won’t cooperate get to be more often. What they find and what people will do not to go back to jail is the sad part.
Drugs especially Meth in has turned it into a pretty scary area. But it’s everywhere.
We don’t tell his mother the story’s, she would lose her mind. Yeah I worry too but I know he’s being as carful as he can and he likes it.
