I know a bunch of us on here have new Rav4's, anyone else having issues with theirs? Copied a post I made on Rav4World:

So with the extreme cold snap we've had here in the northeast of the U.S. (Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania) as well as across the country there have been many people on the FB groups having issues with temp gauges and codes getting thrown. On Christmas my 2019 Rav4 Adventure AWD started having the issue of the temp gauge only going up to 5 lines at the highest while driving 45mph. It stays between 2- 4 lines tops while idling and driving below 35-40 mph. Yesterday it throw a CEL so I parked it. Had my neighbor stop over with his scanner and sure enough it showed three codes, all of which are ( PO128 Coolant Thermostat ).

Has anyone else on here had this problem? There's a lady on FB with a 2020 Hybrid that just had to have her thermostat changed costing $497. I know it's a wearable part but many people are having this problem and the vehicle is too new for a thermostat to crap out. I can see if it was just a couple people but there's alot of us and with it all happening at the same time due to the cold weather I'd say it's a defective part and should be covered. I haven't contacted my dealer yet. Any help would be great. Thanks.

 

My wife's 2020 has been fine. She does not have a hybrid though.

 

Mine isn't a Hybrid either. It's not model specific, just hitting ever kind, Hybrid or straight gas. Did you drive yours in the extreme cold and is it garage kept, that could be a determining factor.

If you read anything on the internet, and this I believe, truck drivers suffer an array of issues over time not just back. It’s not an easy job and I applaud those that do it each day but you pay the price. Bless those guys that put up with so much SH** each and every day. How do you think the stuff you’re buying at that store got there?
But again if you read some things on the internet, like me looking up my knee pain, apparently on one of the sites…….I’m pregnant !!

Oil change and rotation. So nice out , rotated outside.

 

That looks like my convertible, same color and everything, only it's a BMW not a Taco. But the wheels are off! And the calipers are off. And the rotors are off. And there it sits until the parts show up.

 

I took it over for inspection and it failed for brakes. So now I have something to do!

 

what running boards / steps do you have?

 

Not sure . They were on it when I bought it used apx 3 yrs ago. Assuming they been on since new ? I've never seen any name or model numbers or anything like that. I like that they are tucked up tight and perhaps provide some protection from the front tires. I did ditch the mud flaps soon after I bought it.

 

Yes they are the extended travel kings. I think uo to 3in. I'll set them at 2.75in of lift. That's what my truck is currently sitting at. But going to wait till the spring to put them in. Ordering up some new ucas also. And new rear shocks. I have some bilstien 5160s laying around somewhere
