Thanks! And I just apply it within the grille? Also, when Butch takes apart the grille to repaint, does he just use regular zipties to reassemble?

I'd recommend NOT taking it apart to paint. Just use masking tape to go overt the area not to be painted.

This is a habit I have been getting into. The darkness this winter is really getting me down. I get home from work and just have to lay down for 20m or so. I just get into twilight a little. Never felt the need to do this before. In the summer I go hard until 9 or 10 most nights. Lately I'm done being productive by about 6. 37 hit me like a ton of bricks.

Morning Pa. Starting today, my work assigned me three additional buildings. Fought this and lost, stating this is unrealistic. Response is this is what management has to do with limited manpower. The university is refusing to fill vacancies in physical plant. It's sad compared to what we were in the past, actually I am embarrassed the way this place is being run. I feel they are setting us up to fail so they can contract the work out. Seventeen months to go and I am out. Happy Wednesday all!

Dang, hate to hear this. Sounds like a text book tactic. They(management) don't understand what gets done day in and day out , when they do its to late. Stuff will forego PM work, and your job will switch from preactive to proactive. Jumping from fire to fire .... maybe OT will open up ? Good luck and don't let them get to you.

Yep you nailed it. Been fighting this in labor and management meetings. We tell them that they are one time away from multiple failures like the brutal temps coming this weekend wreaking havoc. Freezing and bursting pipes in multiple dorms @ the same time is a good example. Now you have to move the kids out to where? Boilers going down, air handlers faulting due to freeze shats... etc, etc. They will not listen. F it, it's their game.

It's getting hard to find people who want to work anymore. I saw a segment on the local news that some pharmacies are now running on limited hours due to shortages. I know pharmacists make good money, but a local university spokesman said it's burnout. Maybe it has something to do with society today, as in our expectations for instantaneous and unrealistic service? My grandfather worked 6 days a week, 12 hours a day in a steel mill. How did he do it? I would say he had no choice and it was the expectation. On another note, the grandson wanted a mental health day today, but his grades haven't been great this grading period. He does so much better when he is in school learning, as opposed to making it up at home. I talked him into going. It was one of those, "it's cold and dark and I'm tired so I don't want to go" moods he was in.

I argue the point is it's not hard to find people at all if you're willing to pay. The market has changed, you're not getting the same quality of employee or you're not getting employees at all if you're not willing to throw money at them. The employment market is tight so you have to stand out.

We literally have a line of people waiting to be hired here in the production departments.

I don't think money is what motivates most young adults today. That was my experience when I hired people. As far as having a line of people waiting to be hired, the bigger question is, how many will be there 6 months from now or 3 months from now? People start but don't work for long anymore. That turnover makes things difficult.

Some stuff. Not a lot, just some.
That's what we are experiencing - high turnover rate.

Which comes back to people don't want to work, or work too hard, no matter what you pay them. A balance is good. But there doesn't seem to be an urgency anymore.

Frankly, who can blame people for not wanting to work? If you can get away with it why would you waste 40-60 hours of your life every week working for someone else?

We were sold a lie that lets the people at top get rich and continue getting richer, and then complain about people not wanting to show up for scraps.
